Stuff I’m Into

This week was not a shining week for me in the kitchen.  I had plenty of time being snowed in  and I thought that I’d have loads of recipes to share with you.  Nope.  Here’s the scoop…

Zucchini noodles are fun to make but they’re trickier to cook than I thought.  If I cook them too much they are slimy and if I don’t cook them enough they are too weirdly al dente to try to pass off as pasta.  I took a few pics of the dish anyway and it did not look appetizing… like at all.  I’ll keep experimenting to find a good zoodle recipe to share with you guys.

I finally found a butter chicken recipe that is absolutely delicious.  However, I could not figure out how to take pics of the stupid dish.  Yes, I said stupid because it’s so frustrating to a food blogger to have a fantastic recipe where the photographs make it look like dog food.  Literally.  I have to figure out a way to get it plated just right so that that’s not the case because the recipe is amazing.

Smoothie recipes that appear gorgeous on instagram are not necessarily as tasty as they look.  The one recipe I tried this week was actually gross.  I even tried to adjust it and make it again to see if I could improve it.  Nope.  Just gross.

We all have failures in the kitchen, so I’m just going to go with the flow.  Instead of sharing a recipe like I thought I would, I just be letting you know what Stuff I’m Into lately.

Stuff I'm Into2

Nail Polish.  I love my dark colors in the winter but my mom bought me OPI’s Bubble Bath nail polish for Christmas and I’ve been obsessed with it.  It’s a cross between a light pink and nude and it’s super fresh and clean looking.

Workout Clothes.  I need to freshen up my workout gear, yo.  Yes, I “yo’d” you.  Any suggestions?  I like Old Navy’s activewear line, but lately they haven’t had a good selection in the stores near me.

Valentine’s Day.  I’ve added a few touches of red to get ready for the holiday of love (and candy).  How gorgeous is that mirrored tray?!  I found it last month at the Home Goods store and I adore it.  My best friend bought me the candle and it smells amazing.  It’s from the Bath & Body Works’ Be Joyful line but it’s sold out now.  They have a huge selection of other scents to choose from though so I may be going back to stock up.

Ciao!

Look forward to the butter chicken recipe, every recipe of yours that I have made has been delicious!

Try Target for workout clothes, cute and affordable stuff. I also like Lucy (good online sales) and the Zella brand at Nordstrom.

Lisa, thanks for the suggestions! I usually love Target but my store hasn’t changed their inventory in what seems like forever. I like their Champion pants but I’d like to find other options to add to my rotation. I’ve never heard of Lucy and Zella and I’m definitely going to check those out. 🙂
