Hosting A Brunch

I love hosting a brunch because you can serve breakfast, lunch, or a combination of both.  I prefer serving both plus a little something sweet.  (No menu is complete without dessert of course!)  With Easter and Mother’s Day (aka brunch holidays, maybe it’s a Spring thing?) right around the corner I thought that I’d share some of my favorite recipes that I’ve served at bunches of brunches that I’ve hosted in the past.

A dip (with chips and/or crackers):  Corn Guacamole

An egg dish:  Breakfast Tart

or Bacon, Egg and Cheese Skillet Strata

A savory dish:  Butternut Squash, Kale and Sausage

or One Pot Black Beans and Sausage

A muffin:  Light Mini Blueberry Muffins

A dessert:  Coffee Crumb Cake

or Crumb Bottom Lemon Cake

A drink:  Mimosa (of course)

I like to decorate the table with a simple flower center piece.  Here I used a pink and white theme for a pretty Spring feeling.  I like to keep it casual and serve the food buffet style, so all of the plates and stuff are nicely stacked for everyone to help themselves and sit wherever they like.

Happy brunching!!
