Fall Crushes

I know that it’s still August, but Fall is my favorite time of the year so I’m already looking forward to everything to do with it.

Grab a cup a joe or whatever beverage you fancy (maybe a cold iced tea because it’s a hot summer day) and humor me while I share what I’m looking forward to about Fall.  I won’t even judge you if you sneak some pumpkin spice into it.

Fall fashion

Booties.  Nordstrom had their big annual sale recently so I bought these Steve Madden booties (in black) and these Hinge booties (in taupe).  It was hard thinking about booties while I’m still sporting flip flops but the sales were too good to pass up.  The only problem is that I’m eager to wear my new booties but I don’t think that’s a good idea when it’s still 80 plus degrees out.  Patience is a virtue.

Velvet.  I think that velvet is going to be super trendy in the fashion scene this Fall.  I didn’t know that when I bought these Sam Edelman bow flats (in faded rose velvet), also during the Nordstrom annual sale.  Luck?  Nope, I know when I see a cute thing.  I love everything about these flats.  That is saying a lot because I literally own two pairs of flats (including these) so I’m a very tough critic.  I love the color and texture.  I also love how the bow gives it a dainty flair but the studs add edginess to them.

Chunky sweaters.  Who doesn’t love a comfy and cozy sweater?  I’m obsessed with this pale pink chunky cardigan.

Loafer mules.  Loafer mules are also supposed to be hot this Fall.  If you don’t know what these are, then these Halogen mules are a good example.  I wish that I could say that I’m crushing on them, but I’m honestly not sure what to make of them.  My first reaction is that they remind me of a style trend from when I was in high school, which isn’t a good thing.  However, I see so many fashion bloggers wearing them and they do look great on them.  So why am I mentioning this in a post about things things that I love?  I’m curious to know what you think.  Do you love or hate them?  I haven’t made up my mind yet.

Candles

Bath and Body Works, which is my favorite place to buy candles, already came out with their Fall candles!  I will definitely be stopping by soon to pick some up.

And…  Saving the best for last…

Pumpkin food

I love, love, love pumpkin goodies.  (Told you I wouldn’t judge you.)  Here are some of my favorites, some of which I make almost very year.

Pumpkin Spice Latte.  This one is first on my list because it’s pumpkin and coffee, two of my favorite things in the entire world.  I’ll definitely be one of those people who get a “PSL” at Starbucks as soon as they put them out (which is usually early September).  😉

Pumpkin French Toast. Uh-mazing stuff.  Period. End of story.  Courtesy of my husband and his breakfast making skills.

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies.  This picture says it all.  Almost.  The words that go with it are things like “chocolate chip cookies with pumpkin” which help to drive home the point of how great they are.

Pumpkin Pie.  This pie is a family recipe that I make almost every year.  Sometimes more than once.  Delicious.

Iced Pumpkin Coffee Cake.  I’m speechless, which does not happen often.  This coffee cake is perfection and my husband misses this stuff being in the house, so I’ll probably have to make it for him at the very least.

What are you looking forward to about Fall?  Does it have pumpkin spice?

Pumpkin anything is my absolute favorite. I love Autumn for many reasons, also.
