Whole Wheat Bread

“I want a tomato sandwich,” says my husband.  We have no bread in the house, so what does he do?  My good man makes some. My husband loves a good old fashioned tomato sandwich with exactly three ingredients (tomatoes, mayo, and toasted whole wheat bread) and none of them are optional or interchangeable according to him.  This time when the need arrived we had some delicious on-the-vine tomatoes, a jar of mayonnaise, and a complete lack of whole wheat bread.  Being a guy that loves making bread, this problem merely slowed my boo down.  “I’m making bread,” says Dave.  I say, “Go for …

Rosemary Bread

My husband has made this bread five or six times now and I’ve never managed to stop eating it long enough to take pictures of it.  That ends here.  🙂 Have you ever remembered a particular restaurant because they served you the most amazing complimentary bread ever?  This bread reminds me of something that I’ve had at a fancy restaurant.  The best part about making this bread is that you don’t have to get dressed up to enjoy it.  (And in this case, that my husband was actually the one to make it, even better!) There’s nothing worse than eating …

Pancakes

TGIF… and it’s a long weekend!  Most people are gearing up for the start of BBQ season this weekend, getting the hamburgers, hot dogs, and various BBQ fixings ready.  However, I’ve got breakfast on the brain, pancakes to be exact. Recently I realized that a pancake recipe has not made an appearance on Tina’s Chic Corner.  What the what?  I mean, pancakes are one of my faves. Typically my husband makes pancakes using Bisquick with the recipe on the back of the box.  While the Bisquick ones are tasty, I wasn’t going to post something that was pretty much just add milk and eggs …

Skillet Calzone

Pizzas are for Fridays and the weekend!  Instead, how about we switch it up a bit and have a calzone?  You know, because that’s nothing like a pizza.  😉 Whaaaat?!  Calzone in a skillet?  That was my reaction when I saw this recipe in a magazine.  Of course I needed to try it as soon as possible.  It’s basically like my Pizza Skillet, except you add a layer of pizza dough on top of the whole shebang and fill it to the brim with stuff first. I’m still intimidated… or more like I’m still afraid of working with yeast so …

Whole Wheat Waffles

Waffles can be a healthy breakfast… because I say so. Sometimes I want the healthiest breakfast on earth, like a smoothie.  I haven’t made many of those recently.  😉  Other times (usually on the weekends) I want… a less healthy breakfast.  Meaning that the calories simply don’t matter and I enjoy something like an Egg in a Bread Sandwich.  Then there are times when I want something that falls in between those extremes and that’s where these waffles come in. My husband makes amazing French Toast, Waffles, and pancakes.  Once upon a time ago, I told him that I make terrible …
