Homemade Calzone

Is a calzone the same thing as a pizza but just in a different form?  I know, it’s a deep philosophical question.     😉  I want to say yes because the components of each are identical, bread, cheese, sauce, and toppings.  However, if I have a craving for pizza, a calzone won’t do the job, and if I have a craving for a calzone, pizza isn’t going to solve it either.  Perhaps that means they actually are somehow different.  How does that make sense?  It doesn’t.  Regardless, I still love me a tasty calzone, especially a homemade one. Crispy Baked Onion Rings With Chipotle Ranch Dip

My youngest sister came over for a visit on Saturday and as always we had a blast.  We started off our day chatting while we sipped our favorite iced coffee beverage, a Cafe Frappe.  Then we got down to business, snack time.     😉  She was in the mood for comfort food and I was in the mood for something healthy.  There just had to be a way we could both win on this one, so I thought “how about we combine both and make baked onion rings?!” These onion rings are the tastiest and crispiest baked onion rings that …

Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies

I like to watch the food network channel.  Sometimes I can find good recipes and at the very least I almost always get inspiration for creating new ones.  One day we were flipping channels and ended up on Kelsey’s Essentials.  The recipe of the day just happened to be banana cookies with a combo of ingredients I’d never seen before.  That caught my attention for a little while, but I wasn’t feeling inspired to make them.  My husband said, “We need to make those.”  You got it, dude!  He was my inspiration for whipping up these cookies.     🙂 These cookies are the perfect combination …

White Beans and Couscous With Fresh Tomato Salad

Have you noticed that recipe trends change when the seasons change?  I find it slightly entertaining that soups and autumnal desserts seem to be a thing of the past now, as if they’ve stopped being delicious.  Don’t worry soup lovers, the fad will return come September.  Maybe I’ll rebel and make something that no one would expect to see this time of the year, like some yummy Pumpkin Pie.  (That’s one of my husband’s favorites, so I know he would not object to that.)  I will admit that I’m sort of tired of eating soup and I’m anxious to eat some summer veggies and fruit.  …

Vegetarian Taco Salad

I eat a lot of salads, like a lot.  Basically, I eat rabbit food for lunch as a way to justify eating sweets for dessert.  I figure it’s a fair trade off.  I tend to get bored with my salads because no matter what you do to them or what you put in them they are really just a salad.  Meanwhile I could have the exact same ice cream with the exact same toppings everyday for weeks straight and for some reason that never gets old.  I love food so I want to try to keep every meal as exciting …
