Nutella Crescent Rolls

Are you ready for a fool proof recipe that only involves two ingredients?

One of my sisters always asks me for easy recipes.  I show her a few, like chocolate chip cookies and pancakes, and she responds back to me with a “No, I mean really easy.”  The challenge was on for me to find something for her to make and I found this recipe.

Let’s start with the fact that you only need two ingredients.  If two ingredients is two too many for you, then simply forget about cooking and buy something pre-made.  This is really easy to make.  Even the kids can help make this recipe, so it’s got to be easy.  I even included pictures to help guide you in case you have any doubts (you won’t, but just in case).

Step one.  Roll out the crescent rolls.  Pillsbury even pre-cuts them into convenient triangles for you.  It took me longer to open the darn canister than it did to prep this part.  Step two.  Spread Nutella on them.  You might get some all over yourself and everything around you.  It’s an easy step, but for some reason it’s messy for me.

Step three.  Roll them up.  Step four.  Bake them.  See, easy peezy.

Nutella and store bought crescent rolls.  I don’t think you can go wrong here.  Even if you are messy with the Nutella and roll them up ugly, you’ll still get something that tastes out of this world delicious.

Look at all the layers of rich Nutella and buttery flaky goodness.  I think they look I’ve been slaving in the kitchen all morning… but I haven’t.  🙂

I don’t count the powdered sugar as an ingredient because you don’t strictly need it.  But when is sugar ever about need?  Maybe you can’t go by me because I love sugar, especially powdered sugar.  Do you know how hard it was to not completely coat these in my powdered precious?  I wanted to make sure that you saw all of the deliciousness going on here.

Now that school is out (or nearly), this is a great activity for the kids.  It’s not the healthiest thing to eat, but you will have some happy campers.  You win some, you lose some.  😉

  2. Spread the crescent roll dough out and divide the dough into the 8 pre-cut triangles.
  3. Spread 1 tablespoon of the hazelnut chocolate spread on top of each triangle.
  4. Roll up the triangle, rolling from the short side toward the point.
  5. Place all 8 crescent rolls on a cookie sheet and bake them for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.  (I baked mine for 18 minutes.)
