Chocolate Crumb Cake

Oh yea, two of my favorite things combined into one fabulous dish, chocolate and crumb topping!  How can you go wrong…you simply can’t.  🙂 My Perfect Crumb Cake came out so amazing so I wanted to experiment with how I could incorporate chocolate into that traditional crumb cake recipe.  This chocolate crumb cake came out a-maze-ing!  Can you picture me singing that to you?  Hopefully not because I’m not the greatest singer.  Lol.  The chocolate cake layer is dense, moist, and rich and it’s covered with a layer of cinnamon and sugary crumb topping and miniature chocolate chips.  If you’re saying “oh my!” then you’d …

Mini Powdered Sugar Doughnut Muffins

“Time to make the doughnuts.”  Do you remember that commercial?  Well in this case, it’s time to make mini powdered sugar doughnut muffins! I love munchkin doughnuts from Dunkin’ Donuts (who doesn’t, if you’re familiar with the chain, doughnut holes for those that don’t).  I especially love the ones covered with powdered sugar.  Shocker, I know.  For those of you who know me or have read other posts of mine, I’m kind of obsessed with powdered sugar.     😉  While I frequently by Dunkin’ coffee, I rarely treat myself to their doughnuts.  They are mad tasty but they are not a friend to my …

Strawberry Chocolate Chip Loaf

A few weeks ago my husband and I met up with my family (parents, us 4 sisters, 3 husbands, 2 nephews, and a niece) in Lake George for a long weekend.  We mostly did two things, hang out at the pool and eat.  Does it really get better than that?  (No, it doesn’t.)  I wondered what I could make for the occasion that as many people as possible would like.  I figured it had to contain chocolate since they are chocolate lovers like me.  Plus, I wanted it to contain fruit since fruit is such a summery treat.  Then it …

Raspberry Cheese Danish

The day after I made some goodies for my blog, including my cheese danish, I had asked my husband what he was in the mood for me to make.  I tend to ask him this question a lot.  I hope he hasn’t gotten sick of it.     😉  He told me that he wanted the cheese danish again.  Again, so soon?  Yes, that’s how good it was! A request for a repeat, only one day later from when I made it, is awesome. Of course I wanted to honor his request, but I mixed it up a bit.  I took the …

Cinnamon-Sugar Crust Cinnamon-Ribbon Bread

Whenever I host a brunch I always love to serve some type of bread or loaf because I think it’s perfect for late morning or early afternoon time and it pairs well with the other typical brunch foods. This bread is not really a bread, like you’d make a sandwich with.  It’s a wonderful spice cake.  The ribbon of cinnamon sugar in the middle of the loaf is similar to a streusel in a coffee cake, but there are no nuts in this loaf. Cinnamon-Sugar Crust Cinnamon-Ribbon Bread Recipe (Makes 1 loaf) Ingredients: 1/3 cup white sugar 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon 1/4 cup butter, melted 1 large egg …
