Rustic Soft Pretzels

Are you guys ready for another edition of Dave’s Bread Corner?  I leave you in great hands! You ever been to a bar and ordered pretzels?  I don’t mean the kind that sit on the bar getting sneezed on for days at a time, I mean the kind that shows up with earthy brown mustard or some cheesy beer dip and carries with it the warmth of the oven they just came from mere minutes before you eat them.  Well, I have…  and they are awesome.     🙂 I started the day with the question “What kind of bread have …

Green Beans With Tomatoes

Whenever I see or hear about “green beans with tomatoes” I always think about this one time at my grandmother’s house. When I was about 15 years old, my grandma had cataract surgery.  My cousin (who was about 14 years old) and I stayed with her for a few days to help her while she recuperated.  One day we decided to have leftover green beans and tomatoes for lunch (my grandma had prepared it before her surgery as an easy re-heat afterwards).  How hard could it be for me to warm up green beans? Pumpkin Bread

I’m diving into pumpkin season!  Are you ready?  If not, then stash this recipe somewhere safe for when you’re ready because this is seriously the best pumpkin bread I’ve ever had. Here are a few general thoughts that I had in mind when I styled this bar area: Keep it simple and uncluttered. Show the favorite liquors that have pretty bottles (it’s styling …

Gin And Tonic With Raspberries

My go-to alcoholic beverage is a gin and tonic, but it didn’t always used to be that way.  In fact, I used to hate the stuff.  A lot.  Like, it was just nasty to me.  Anytime my husband ordered the drink I’d take a sip.  After all, it’s his favorite and there had to be some reason for that.  After the first few times, I discovered I hated it just a little less each time I’d try it until miraculously one day I fell in love with it.  Now it’s my favorite drink. Let’s talk gin.  I used to think it didn’t …
