Peanut Butter Chocolate Dipped Blondies

I bought a bag of Valentine’s Day colored M&Ms the other day.  How should I have fun with them?  (Aside from eating them by the handful.)  Well, chocolate is best friends with peanut butter so let’s have a party with the two flavors! I made these super thick and chewy peanut butter blondies and coated them with chocolate and M&Ms. Peanut Butter Chocolate Dipped Blondies Recipe (Makes 16 bars) Ingredients: 2/3 cup butter (roughly 1 stick and 3 tablespoons) 1 cup dark brown sugar 1/2 cup white sugar 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter 2 eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 and 3/4 cups all-purpose …

Black And White Cookies

Black and white cookies.  It sounds like a name that a kid would give a cookie, but many of us know that the reference is to those iconic cookies that orginated from New York bakeries.  My entire family LOVES them.  I mean really loves them.  What better to celebrate my love for them this time of the year but to bake them these cookies.  They are a labor of love (you’ll see why), but my family is worth it.     🙂 These large cake-like cookies are coated with a thick layer of sweet frosting, half vanilla and half chocolate. Black …

French Toast

Ah, February… the most romantic month of the year.  I think romance comes in many forms. Perhaps it comes when your partner does a household chore, randomly, when it’s typically your responsibility.  Maybe it’s when your best friend, who lives a few hours away, sends you a text saying they miss you.  It’s not always about chocolate and flowers (although don’t get me wrong, I love that too). I’m the one who makes 98% of the meals in our home so for me, so when my husband voluntarily makes breakfast on the weekend, I feel like I’ve been swept off …

Zucchini Spice Bars With Spice Frosting

I haven’t baked with zucchini in years so I had a random desire to fix that.  Sometimes zucchini goodies can come out bland, but not these bars.  They are insanely delicious!  In fact, I brought them to my niece’s 1st birthday party, but secretly I didn’t want to share them. These zucchini bars are infused with traditional autumnal spices and covered with a sweet spicy frosting.  Picture an amazing carrot cake, and you really aren’t far off.  Yum! Zucchini Spice Bars With Spice Frosting Recipe (Makes 16 bars) Ingredients for Zucchini Spice Bars: 1 zucchini (equivalent to approximately 1 cup) 2/3 cup dark …

Roasted Red Pepper Hummus

My husband is a Patriots fan.  Not crazily so, but enough to want to watch them play if we don’t have any other plans.  Since I didn’t have any team loyalties before I met him, I followed suit.  Something weird happened this season though.  I found myself seeking out the Patriots schedule, looking forward to their games, and wanting to learn more about the rules of football. Have I really gotten “into” football?  Even my sister gave me a funny look the other day when I was talking about the recent playoff games.  Hey, I can love high heel shoes, make-up, and dig …
