Giant Blueberry Hand Pie

Is it bad when your laziness is the inspiration for a recipe? My husband has been after me to make my Strawberry Hand Pies again.  The last crumb of those wasn’t even gone and he was already putting in his request.  That made me happy because I knew I had a real winner of a recipe. Here’s the clincher…  Even though the strawberry hand pies are crazy delicious, they are a pain in the butt to make… at least for me.  The steps are actually quite easy, but the perfectionist in me takes it to a whole other level (and not a good one).  …

Best… Hummus… Ever

Here’s the second installment in my Best Ever series!  What’s it all about?  Click here to get the scoop and get some chips ready to scoop up this uh-mazing dip. Today I’m sharing with you the, Best… Hummus… Ever. It all started when I wanted a good hummus recipe that didn’t require tahini (which is a common ingredient in hummus).  To be honest, I thought I’d make it once and realize that tahini was in fact necessary for a hummus to be awesome.  I was wrong.  You don’t even notice the tahini is missing.  It’s tasty and everyone goes crazy over it. …

Funfetti Doughnuts

Sprinkles and doughnuts… is there a better way to start a Monday?  I think not. I’ve been chatting about our family trip that we took to Lake George, NY last weekend.  We have a specific morning ritual everyday.  My youngest sister and I start with iced coffee from Dunkin’ Donuts.  Then we all head to my parents’ motel room for breakfast.  Maybe someone will have a Cinnamon Roll, or a Sticky Bun, or both (yes, really), or a Strawberry Hand Pie, or Peach Blueberry Scones, or The Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookie, or you get the idea.  Yes, those are really some of the goodies I’ve bought …

Double Chocolate Chunk Cookies

Tomorrow marks five months to Christmas.  Crazy talk, right? I watched a week of Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel (their Christmas in July celebration).  The stores are bringing out their Fall collections and the fashion bloggers are already showing off their Fall fashion trends.  So I guess you could say that all that has put me in the mood for baking cookies, my typical Christmastime activity. Plus, I had to make cookies for my annual family trip to Lake George, NY.  It’s tradition so if I didn’t show up with something I might have had a riot on my hands.  …

Eggplant Caprese

Sticky Buns win!  T, what are you talking about and what does that have to do with this eggplant dish?  I’ll explain. Bare with me for one minute as I digress from today’s recipe.  My husband and I have been having a friendly debate as to whether cinnamon rolls are different from sticky buns and if one is better than the other.  We concluded that both are freakin’ amazing (at least as far as his recipes are concerned), but if we had to pick a favorite then he’d pick the sticky bun and I’d pick the cinnamon roll.  What better way to figure it …
