Power Salad

I don’t really believe in new year’s resolutions.  Instead I like to call it a new year’s evolution. Great phrase, right?  I wish I’d thought of it.  I heard Shailene Woodley (from the movie Divergent) say it the other day.  Speaking of Divergent, I still have yet to see it and I want to.  Has anyone seen it or read the books? If I want to make a change I’ll do it on March 23rd, or June 14th, or October 9th.  Meaning that I don’t wait around for the new year to make a change and I’ll make the change (or try) right away. …

Mocha Smoothie

I meant to pick up vanilla yogurt at the grocery store.  Can you imagine my surprise when I opened up the container at home and saw vanilla yogurt with chocolate chunks in it?  Man, I hate it when I pick up the wrong food by accident.  Does that ever happen to you? It turns out it was a happy accident because I couldn’t stop eating this yogurt.  I dove into it like it was ice cream and I was cheating the dessert police during breakfast time.  Isn’t that always fun?  Well, to a sweet junkie like me, it is.  🙂 It’s …

Grilled Ham And Brie

Have you ever tried to recreate a meal that you enjoyed at a restaurant?  That’s what I did today.  Except in this case it was a meal my husband loved. Let me set the scene.  Montreal, Canada in 2011.  My husband and I were starving and choosing a place for lunch felt like an impossible mission.  We were on a street with literally a dozen places to eat and we found ourselves utterly unable to decide.  We finally chose this little cafe (in the photo below).  My husband thought he was ordering an ordinary ham and cheese sandwich, but it turned out to be …

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Let’s be real.  Can there ever be too much chocolate cake?  I think not. OMG, I just realized that this looks like a ginormous doughnut!  Sweet.  But really, it’s a bundt cake.  I guess I’ve been in a bundt mood lately.  First with my Gingerbread Bundt Cakes and now this one. This cake is a chocoholic’s dream.  Seriously, I don’t think that it is humanly possible for me to have included more chocolate here.  You’ve got a chocolate cake, loaded with chocolate chips, topped with a rich chocolate ganache, and miniature chocolate chips sprinkled on top.  See, I told you …

A Tina’s Chic Christmas

Christmas starts early in our home.  It’s tradition for us to get our tree on the weekend immediately after Thanksgiving.  My husband strings the lights on the tree and I decorate it with the ornaments.  Don’t you love my husband’s game ornaments next to elegant ones?  😉 It takes me most of the day to decorate the tree.  Every ornament has its spot.  I’m kinda finicky that way.  Which now that I think of it, may be why my husband doesn’t want to help. We host lots of holiday dinner parties.  It’s our thing.  This year I used red accents for the dinner …
