Spinach Pie (Spanakopita)

It looks like celery juice is a food trend this year.  I’ll pass.  However, I do have an green food option for you if you’re into that sort of thing, except this option is delicious. I’ve had a lot of spinach pie.  Being Greek, that’s to be expected.  😉  If you asked 10 people to make it then I bet you’d get 10 different varieties.  I’m sure most, if not all, would be delicious in their own way.  When my husband and I visited Greece several years go we had a spinach pie in a spiral form at a truck …

Giant Batch of Giant Chocolate Chip Cookies

I’m sorry.  If you’re working on your new year’s resolution of eating healthy, this recipe is not going to make that easy.  I’m not sorry to be sharing one of our favorite recipes of all time however. Chili… Again

Chili is the perfect food to be thinking about right now.  Chili is great for cold weather or for the big game.  Who’s up for some chili? I actually shared a chili recipe back in 2013.  Yikes, that was my first year blogging so I’ll be celebrating 6 years already!  Anyway, my husband and I make that chili recipe every winter and we love it.  However, every time we make it, we say that it should have a tad more liquid.  Apparently that didn’t bother us enough because we are only now finally adjusting the recipe to try to fix it.  It’s really …

Simple Winter Decor

Taking down the Christmas decorations is bitter sweet.  I’m glad that the task is done but I miss the Christmas tree lights and all of the fun decorations.  I struggle to decide when to take everything down for that same reason.  Leave them up longer and get sick of them or end up with pine needles literally everywhere, or take them down too early and miss them more than I probably should.  It’s a careful balance. Every January I also struggle with how to fill the space after I take everything down.  I want to leave the same joy in …

Almond Biscotti… Made Smaller

I love traditions, especially during the holiday season.   Every Christmas my baby sister comes over and we bake cookies and we always have a blast.  For the past 5 years we’ve made these almond biscotti.  I actually posted the recipe 5 years ago.   These cookies are THE best biscotti recipe I’ve ever made.  Just to show ya, it’s the only biscotti on my blog because no other recipe has come close to being as good.  They’ve set the bar for biscotti baking.  They are perfect in every way, except the size.  Every time we make them we think that they …
