3 Inexpensive Ways To Freshen Up Your Home

Every January, after I’ve taken down the Christmas decorations, I get the itch to redecorate my home.  I’m not talking about a complete re-design, mind you.   That would be super fun, but not realistic to do every year.   Instead I do a few simple things to give my home a fresh look. Here are three easy and inexpensive ways I like to freshen up our home: New pillow case covers.  Change up the pillows in a room.  It’s simple and it’s amazing how it gives a new feel to a room.  I love my cozy faux fur pillows for the Winter, but in the …

10 Easy Avocado Toast Recipes

Bread and avocado.  Who knew that this combo could take over the world?  Well, I might be a little dramatic, but you do see avocado toast (or some variation of it) in restaurants and on social media.  That sort of counts, right?  😉 I’ve been wanting to post an avocado toast recipe because I love it.  That’s what I do, I share things that I love.  However, I can’t bring myself to write a “recipe” that states the obvious.  “To make avocado toast, toast some bread and top it with avocado.  Done.”  I like sharing simple recipes but this is a …

I blame January.  It’s the middle of winter, it’s cold, it’ dark all the time, and there’s absolutely nothing interesting going on.  Nothing.  At.  All.  I suppose one could say that finding a new salad recipe is interesting but that’s not what I really had in mind. I’m really into this salad combo, but I’m especially loving the Kalamata olives and chickpeas.  And this salad dressing is the bomb digity.  I have to admit that I’m not always in the mood to make a dressing because it tends to take too much time, but this one is quick …

Last October my husband and I vacationed in Colorado.  We spent 10 days visiting Denver, Colorado Springs, Aspen, Vail, and a few spots in between.  Since we had so much fun stuff to share with you, I split it up into two parts.   If you missed Part 1, click here.  We talked about our adventures in and around Denver and Colorado Springs. Today our travel story moves on to the lovely Aspen and Vail.  Here’s our itinerary and a list of our recommendations: Aspen Hotel: The Gant The hotel is located about 5 minutes walking distance to downtown Aspen which we loved and totally …
