Lemon Poppy Seed Muffins

TGIF! Guys, I’m so glad that this week is over.  This week I had a root canal.  Surprisingly, it wasn’t actually as bad as I thought it would be.  The bad part was that my dentist began the procedure last week but he couldn’t reach all of my roots so he had to sent me to an endodontist.  The pain was way, way worse last week.  Apparently I have curved roots which makes them difficult to get at but thankfully the endodontist was able to get at them and the root canal procedure was a success.  I’m not done yet though.  …

Stuff I’m Into: What’s In My Bag

Happy Monday!  Tina’s Chic Corner got a little face lift yesterday and has a new background. Do you guys like it? I’m doing a little something different today and sharing with you what I typically have in my bag.  A year or two ago I would have never thought to do this because I assumed that no one would care.  I follow a number of bloggers and some of them (mostly fashion bloggers) have shared what’s in their bag.  I love reading those posts because I think it’s a great way to get know the person behind the blog.  I …

Blueberry Crumb Bars

I’ve got a cheater’s way of making blueberry pie.  Interested? Pesto Caprese Zucchini Noodle Salad

I tried a cycle/spin class for the first time.  The good news is that I survived.  The bad news is that I don’t think I’ll ever go again. Let me back up for a minute.  I’ve been taking a kickboxing class at a local karate place for the past three and a half years.  I absolutely love it.  Unfortunately the owner is no longer offering the class so now I’ve been forced to join a gym.  They offer a wide variety of classes so I decided to go outside of my comfort zone and try something new.  Go me or …

Berry Kiss Smoothie

Who else is stuffed from Memorial Day weekend (aka the all you can eat unofficial start of summer BBQ food bonanza weekend)? If you are like me then you’re looking to have lighter meals to try to help compensate for the damage done from the weekend.  I instantly think of smoothies as a sure fire way to a light and healthy meal.  Of course not all smoothies are healthy but this one is.  This one is dairy free (if that’s the sort of thing that you’re into or just looking to try something different).  Plus this one has got some “stick with ya” powers, …
