What’s it about? After many years of cooking and two plus years of having a food blog, I’ve come to realize that a recipe falls into one of a few categories. One, the recipe is gross and you will never see it here because I only share the good stuff with you. (Not mysteriously, you have no idea how many things I’ve made that fall into this category. My husband points out that you should trust that to be a good thing.) Two, the recipe is great and I love it at the time that I make it, but over time I tweak the recipe, find a better one, or never make it again after having blogged about it. I’m totally entitled to change my opinion over time. 😉 Three, the recipe is awesome, I love it, everyone around me loves it, I make it over and over, and I don’t change one single thing about it… ever. This third category is what the series is all about.
As a food blogger, I’m always trying new recipes and tweaking old ones to make them more perfect (if that’s even possible) or I’m using a good recipe as the basis for another good recipe. I’m sure other food bloggers can relate because that’s what we do… we are always looking to share new stuff with our readers. However, even food bloggers have certain recipes that they make over and over again because they stand the test of time.
This series of posts represents my exploration into my own blog on the quest to find the best of the best. The things that people don’t stop asking for, and that I love making because they are just consistently amazing. I often wonder what recipes other bloggers constantly go back to, and I figured if I wonder, maybe you do too. This provides a window into what I make regularly when I’m not doing it for the blog.
When will it happen? There will not be a set schedule for this series. Basically, when I feel like I’ve got something that qualifies, you’ll hear about it here.
Best… Something… Ever…
