I love sugar cookies but I really dislike rolling them out. I’m too much of a perfectionist and I get very frustrated rolling out each cookie to be the same exact thickness. I have this same complaint about gingerbread cookies too. My solution is simply avoid cookies that involve this step. These sugar cookie bars are a perfectionist’s dream because there is essentially no perfection required. I don’t have to fuss at all while making them. In fact, not only are they easy (and stress free) to make, but you can whip them up quickly with minimal dishes to wash. …

Triple Peanut Butter Blondies
The more peanut butter the better, right? I’ve made thick peanut butter blondies and I’ve made peanut butter blondies with chocolate candies. Both of them are amazing, but these triple peanut butter ones are my favorite, by far. Yup, I said triple. All three recipes start with the same peanut butter blondie base. Do you know what that means? I’ve got a good thing going here. However, each recipe has its own twist. The blondie base is so versatile. I mean, hello, it’s a chewy peanut butter cookie in a bar form. Nothing about that sucks. These blondies are loaded with peanut butter. Really, really, loaded. You’ve …
S’more Cookie Bars
What’s the first dessert that comes to mind when you think of summer? For me, it’s a s’more. Le’ts address the elephant in the room first. For all my life I’ve called it a s’mores. To be clear I thought it was like deer or moose. I thought s’mores was both singular and plural. Wikipedia has now corrected me. It’s a s’more (no “s” at the end). I learn something new everyday. 😉 If you’re my husband (the Pixar fan) then you may also refer to them as schmoes. Okay, back to your regularly scheduled program. Desserts. Summer desserts. How …
Blueberry Crumb Bars
I’ve got a cheater’s way of making blueberry pie. Interested? I know that baking a pie can be an intimidating task, especially the crust part. I used to feel that way for a very long time. I avoided making pies because I thought it was an impossible task for me. Then one day I made a blueberry peach pie for my husband for his birthday. I wish I could tell you that it was a happy ending, but in fact, the pie turned out kind of nasty. In my defense, I picked the worst pie to try first because it’s extremely …
Oatmeal Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Bars
Last week was a total bust on the blog front. We had eight straight days of clouds and/or rain which made me feel lazy and unmotivated. I did manage to push myself to try one new recipe but it was a flop so obviously I was not going to share it with you. By the end of Wednesday I decided to write the week off. I was super productive over the weekend though. My husband and I went car shopping. (You know, test driving, sitting through salesman schpeals, etc.) I hate car shopping but it didn’t turn out as bad …
