Are you obsessed with peanut butter? How about Butterfinger candy bars? If yes, then I think I may have made your Friday. 🙂 My goal here was to create a dessert with loads of peanut butter power. There’s some chocolate going on here and some subtle graham flavor, but let’s be real, it’s mostly a peanut butter flavored party. I had the idea to add Butterfinger bars to a no-bake peanut butter layer. I figured it would be a winner because let’s face it, peanut butter + peanut butter flavored candy bar = awesome. Also who doesn’t love the “crispety, crunchety” texture of Butterfingers? …

Hint of Chocolate Cookies
This is a Dave’s Bread Corner recipe in disguise. I know, you’re thinking cookies aren’t bread at all but my husband loves cookies and aside from bread they are one of his go to baked goods to make. A common pattern when he’s in the kitchen baking is that he prefers no-fuss recipes. If a cookie recipe says to chill it in the fridge for a while or calls for “odd” ingredients he will often look for a different one, or more commonly simply adjust the recipe to not involve them. This recipe was invented by him while he was …
Sprinkle Cookies
My entire family gets together every year for a long weekend in Lake George, NY. It’s basically a food fiesta with some swimming and mini golf. I can’t wait! We’ll be heading there later this month so I took a poll of what my peeps wanted me to bring (food wise). “Panera chocolate chip cookies”! (That’s what we call them because they look and taste just like the ones from that restaurant chain.) You know them as the Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies. Of course I’ll happily comply with such request, but it got me thinking. The cookie base from that recipe is amazing so …
Coconut Ice Cream Sandwiches Dipped in Chocolate and Pistachios
How did I use those homemade Chocolate Wafers that I made last week? Drum roll please… I initially wanted to make a straightforward ice cream sandwich. You know, the rectangle shaped ones where the chocolate cookie part unfortunately sticks to your fingers. Um, yeah, the simple beginning somehow snowballed into this amazing concoction. Hey, I’m not complaining. I’m super happy with the end result, even if I strayed a little bit from my original intent. I’ve sandwiched homemade coconut “ice cream” in between two chocolate cookies, dipped half of it into chocolate, and sprinkled chopped pistachios on top. Coconut Ice Cream Sandwiches Dipped in …
Chocolate Wafers
A few months ago I thought I’d pick up some chocolate wafers from the grocery store. I wasn’t sure if I was going to use them or not but I figured it wouldn’t hurt to have them in the house for when I needed them. Holy cow, they are expensive! Forget it. I put them back on the shelf. I’m funny. I’ll spend $6 for a little block of feta cheese, but I refuse to spend almost $5 on a small sleeve of chocolate cookies. Maybe it’s because I expect cheese to be relatively costly, but not a box of simple cookies. …
