About Me

Does anyone else find it hard to write about themselves?   I enjoy reading other bloggers’ “about” pages because I feel like it connects me with the blogger.  Sure, you’ll get to know me if you read my posts, my likes, dislikes, obsessions, things of that sort.

I am a full time attorney so I tend to give various unnecessary disclaimers in my posts because it’s an occupational hazard.  And no, I do not give out legal advice.  My blog is a place where I escape being a legal beagle and write about things I enjoy.

I love to eat and I try to eat healthy.  Trying is good, right?  I’m easily tempted, especially with sweets and specifically chocolate.  I’m not sure I can go one day without eating chocolate.  My former nutritionist called me a “sweets junkie,” harsh but true.  That is why you’ll find more recipes for baked goodies than healthy recipes on my website.  I work out a lot to try to balance out any bad eating habits.  I enjoy running and kick boxing. Yes, I can seriously say I enjoy it! When I run I get lost in my music and I genuinely have fun at my kick boxing classes.

I am a very visual person, which is one of the main reasons why I enjoy decorating, and often causes me to move things around several times before I’m satisfied that it looks good.  Oh yeah, I tend to be a perfectionist and I can sometimes drive myself (or my husband) a little nuts.

I am into beauty and fashion and I especially love sharing any new beauty tricks I discover. After all, isn’t that would a good girlfriend is for?

I love to travel and experience other cultures.

Also, I love to take pictures to document and remember every moment.

I’ve been happily married since 2008 to the best husband in the world.  My husband and I always have the best times together, whether it be traveling across the world or enjoying hot cocoa on our couch in front of our Christmas tree.   He’s helped me so much with my website and I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for him.  Special shout out to my hubby!

Tina first of all congrats for you blog. the recipes are absolutely stunning! Second, I wanted to ask you how you put that little tastespotting icon into your right sidebar? It looks so cute! Where can I get it? Thank you a lot

Hi Lara! Thank you so much for stopping by. 🙂 My husband is the engineer for the blog and remembers the Tastespotting badge as being a bit tricky. The best approach he found was to go to this site (http://www.myvegancookbook.com/blog/2012/02/17/i-made-tastespotting-badges) and follow the directions. The folks over at Tastespotting don’t host their own badges so you actually have to put it somewhere on your own site for it to work. Good luck.

It did work perfectly! Thanks so much! I enjoy your blog everyday!
        Best, Laradelilah

  2. Hi Tina!
Hey I was stopping by again so I could sign up for your email list. Do you have one? Let me know! Hope you have a good weekend! 🙂

    1. Tina says:

Hi Julie! I don’t have an email list right now. I’m fairly new to the blogging scene (is 6 months still considered new? 😉 ) I’ve actually been researching how to add this and I hope to be able to figure it out. If I do I’ll let you know. I appreciate your interest and I am so glad you stopped by. 🙂
You too have a wonderful weekend!

  3. Tina – love your blog and would like to comment on the recipes! I can’t figure out how to do that. If there’s a comment feature, help me find it – because I’d love to share how great I think your blog is!

    1. Tina says:

Thank you so much! Click on the actual blog entry then scroll to the bottom of the post. There is a comment section at the bottom, looking similar to how you left this comment on the page. Hope that makes sense. I’m also on twitter: @TinasChicCorner so feel free to stop there if that’s easier to find me. I appreciate you stopping by and hope to see you here again. 🙂

  4. HI Tina,

I have to try the pumpkin coffee cake, it looks amazing. And the potato soup too!

Tina, this is a beautiful blog! Congratulations on getting out there. I’ve been at it for about 2.5 years and am learning every day. Your photos are gorgeous, those chocolate truffles look completely divine. I just took a look at your yogurt ranch dip. My kids love ranch dressing and in the back of my mind I’ve been thinking “I could make that from scratch”. I was trying to avoid using HVR packets, but I think it’s time I admitted that ‘ranch’ is not a flavor found in nature and just go with it 🙂 Thanks for the inspiration and thanks for stopping by my blog earlier this week. Keep it going, girl 🙂

    1. Tina says:

Hehe, I’ve thought of making ranch dressing from scratch too but my husband is convinced it won’t taste the same as from the store shelf. He’s probably right. In my house I try to balance making all natural foods and…well, the opposite, I suppose. Personally, I think there is room for both healthy yogurt dips and chocolate truffles. 🙂
You have certainly made my day with all your sweet words. Thank you, kindly! I appreciate you stopping by. 🙂

      1. Julia says:

Agreed! I did manage to give up Lipton Onion Soup Mix – THAT I can replace. But Hidden Valley Ranch, not so easy. And if it means my kids will devour their veggies, so be it. Happy New Year! Do you have a Facebook fan page? I took a quick look and didn’t see it – just thought I’d mention that my FB page (www.facebook.com/jugglingwithjulia) is where a lot of my blog chatter happens, if you are a FB gal! Happy New Year 🙂

        1. Tina says:

Happy New Year! I actually don’t have a facebook account, but I’d like to work on that this year. I’m still getting used to Twitter. 😉

  6. Liz says:

Hi, I just tried to leave a comment on your choc-chip cookies post but couldn’t find your commenting section. Is there one or do you not allow comments? Maybe I’m blind. Anyway, I love the height of your cookies and it’s great a cookie like this can be healthier by substituting dates xx

  8. Kim says:

    1. Tina says:

Thank you so much…that really means a lot to me. 🙂 I appreciate you stopping by and hope to see you again soon!

  9. Melissa Thomas says:

Hi! Can I add your link for the Chocolate Chip Banana Bread to my blog? Thanks!

    1. Tina says:

Hi Melissa! That would be fine to use my link as a source.

  10. Thanks so much for impacting us with your knowledge and time you spend to do research we appreciate.
