Happy Wednesday! I haven’t shared a non recipe post in a while so I thought I’d mention a random bunch of stuff that I’ve been into lately.
Sneakers. I’ve been eyeing these Adidas’ Superstar sneakers since last year, but I was hesitant to buy them because they remind me of my high school days. (Yes, I’m dating myself.) With some reservations I finally bought them last week. Guess what? I’m obsessed with them! They are comfy and they go with almost any outfit. They come in several colors but I chose the all white ones.
Pineapples. It’s about that time of the year when I drag out my spring decorations and I love adding touches of pineapple things, like this pineapple scented candle. It’s sitting on the coffee table along with a few other pieces. I think it needs a pineapple friend like this miniature ceramic version or this gold candle.
Property Brothers. I’ve always loved watching these twin brothers on their home improvement show on HGTV. They’re funny and entertaining, and their guests aren’t as annoying as some other home improvement shows. Lately I’ve been binge watching all the repeats of their original show (Property Brothers) and Buying and Selling.
Concealer. I’ve been using this BareMinerals’ concealer for a while. While I do love it, I wanted to try something new. A couple of weeks ago I bought this Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer and I’m really liking it so far. For me it takes time to tell if I really love a beauty product and the real test will be if I buy it again once I run out of it.
Fitness. Yikes, bathing suit season is right around the corner so I’ve been trying very hard to focus on eating healthy and working out. I like food… so there’s that problem. I’ve always been pretty good about working out but I’ve kicked it up a notch. I want a quick fix (who doesn’t?) but there’s really no such thing, so I’m trying to have patience, stick with a program, and not worry about the dreaded scale so much. It’s not easy, my friends. One day I told my husband that I was excited to try a new and challenging workout. Literally a few days later I told him that my workouts suck and I’m too old for it. Crazy, much? 😉 I suppose this journey is also about improving my mental state when it comes to health and fitness. I think like most people, I have good days and bad days. It’s all about leading a well balanced life and I’m still trying to figure what that means for me.
Hot water and lemon. This may sound weird, but I’m obsessed with having a cup of hot water and a slice of lemon at night. There is something warm and comforting about it and all I can say is that I look forward to snuggling on the couch with my boo at the end of every day with a mug of this stuff. It’s tasty, it keeps you hydrated, it’s nice and hot, and it doesn’t keep you up long into the morning like some other hot beverages might. It’s the simple things, right?
Egg in a bread. An egg in a bread has always been one of my favorite breakfasts but lately it seems that this is my go-to breakfast on the weekend. I shared a sandwich version of it a couple of years ago so if you’re looking for a recipe for this delicious concoction you can use that one, just skip the sandwich part.
Ciao for now.
