Kitchen Product Splurges

My youngest sister is getting married this year.  (Cue the tears.)  She asked me what I thought she should include on her wedding registry.  She’s just starting out so she’ll need some basic things, like mixing bowls.  I also think that she should include some things on her registry that are a bit extravagant, even if she doesn’t think she’ll use them as often as the basics. Here are my top 5 kitchen products that I think are worth the splurge: Espresso Machine.  My husband and I bought a Nespresso espresso machine in 2014 after we came home from our Turks and Caicos …

Spring Decor With Faux Flowers

It’s finally starting to feel like Spring outside, which is good because I’ve had the house ready for Spring since late February.  I start that early for a couple of reasons.  First and foremost, I’m very eager for more light and warmer temperatures come late February into early March so I figure if I bring Spring inside then maybe I’ll start feeling like it really is Spring (even when we have 10 inches of snow).  Second, I’m a visual person so I usually have to rearrange things 2, 3 or 4 times before I’m happy with the way something looks. …

Cookies are always a good idea.  If you read my blog you’ve probably heard me say that before. Last Sunday, I celebrated Greek Orthodox Easter.  There was SO much food and it was all so delicious.  Easter is my favorite holiday when it comes to food.  My mom makes traditional Greek dishes like pastitsio, spanakopita, lamb, potatoes, and tzatziki.  I’ve been known to make a pretty mean pastitsio and spanakopita, too.  😉 Tsoureki (Easter bread)  and koulourakia (Easter cookies) are two of my favorite things of all time.  All time.  I’m rationing out the last few kouralakia that my mom gave me to try to …

Spring Fever

Happy Wednesday!  I woke up to 24 degrees F today.  24!?  That’s definitely not normal for CT in April.  As I anxiously await warmer temperatures, I thought I’d share some of my favorite things. Military jacket.  I never get tired of a military jacket.  I’ve even mentioned it as one of my favorites back in 2016 and 2015.  I would have mentioned it last year too but for some reason I didn’t post a fashion favorite list year.  It’s been on a trend for years and I don’t see it going out of style.  My current jacket is three years old …
