It’s soup season. You know, cold out and stuff. If you’re suffering from a post holiday food coma and you’re tired of being in the kitchen like I am then this bean soup couldn’t come at a better time. This soup is a great way to get back on track for healthy eating because it’s made of beans and veggies. That’s all healthy stuff all the time. You cook this soup in a slow cooker. I’m not really drawn to slow cooker recipes because I don’t mind cooking soup on the stove. Oh, plus, I don’t like to leave the house when the crock pot is on. …

Cheers!
It’s almost 2017! Are you going out or staying in for New Year’s eve? Sometimes my husband and I go out for dinner and head home to watch the ball drop in Times Square. Other times we skip the restaurant and make a nice dinner at home. I’m not sure what we’ll do this year. I have a feeling that we’ll make a decision based on whether I want to get out of my pajamas. 😉 If you’re hosting a party on New Year’s eve (even if it’s a party of 2) then cocktails are a must. I wanted to …
Red Quinoa with Tomato, Basil, and Mozzarella
It’s a mad dash to the holiday finish line. The other day I looked in the fridge and noticed that it was basically empty. When did that happen? I had butter and eggs (and everything else that I needed in the cabinets to make cookies), but I had nothing to make “real food.” You know, something to eat for dinner (aside from cookies of course). Please tell me someone else can relate. I went to grocery store yesterday and got something other than cookie ingredients, but I’m still left with the thought of “I don’t want to cook or I don’t have time to …
Entertaining for the Holidays
My husband and I host some dinner parties for family and friends during the holidays. There’s something special about sharing our home when it’s decorated for Christmas. I’ve recently shared with you how we decorated our bedroom, family room and foyer so now I’ll share the with you the room that we do most of our entertaining in. I decorated the bar area with a few touches of wintry items which can even stay out after Christmas. I’d like to thank my husband for taking most of these photos with his camera. If I remember correctly, I was running around like …
Italian Ricotta Cookies
Are you eating cookies for breakfast, lunch and dinner? This time of the year you’re baking cookies to give away (or to keep for yourself) or receiving cookies or both so it’s definitely socially acceptable to consume cookies all day long. 😉 The question is what will we eat when the holidays are over? Oh right, salads and smoothies. You know, because my New Year’s resolution will be to lose weight. Again. Until then, I’ll happily eat all the cookies I can get my hands on, including these cookies. These Italian ricotta cookies are one of the best cookies I’ve …
