Banana Cake With Vanilla Frosting

I’m bananas over this cake.  (Bet you’ve never heard that one before, but I couldn’t resist..  😉 ) In all seriousness, I’ve wanted to make this banana cake for a while now.  Why?  Uhm, isn’t the answer obvious?  We’re talking about cake, here.  I haven’t made it until now because I’m not the greatest at making cakes or frosting them, especially frosting them.  One time I threw an entire cake away because I tried to spread the frosting on it before it had cooled completely and the frosting melted and got weird. I learned two things that day.  One, the …

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Let’s be real.  Can there ever be too much chocolate cake?  I think not. OMG, I just realized that this looks like a ginormous doughnut!  Sweet.  But really, it’s a bundt cake.  I guess I’ve been in a bundt mood lately.  First with my Gingerbread Bundt Cakes and now this one. This cake is a chocoholic’s dream.  Seriously, I don’t think that it is humanly possible for me to have included more chocolate here.  You’ve got a chocolate cake, loaded with chocolate chips, topped with a rich chocolate ganache, and miniature chocolate chips sprinkled on top.  See, I told you …

Gingerbread Bundt Cakes

Holy cow, how is it December 22 already?  I’d better get my gingerbread groove on before the holiday season is over! Chocolate Hazelnut Cheesecake

Guys, meet the best cheesecake in the world.  Cheesecake, meet the world.  Have I had every cheesecake in the world to know that this is the best?  Nope, but I’m that confident. Why do I love thee?  Let me count the ways… One.  This cheesecake has the perfect texture.  It’s creamy and dense, but not overly so.  When you prepare the batter, make sure all the ingredients and especially the cream cheese are at room temperature.  This will help give you a smooth velvety texture. Two.  I can finally make a cheesecake without cracks on top!  “We never think this would happen for …

Apple Cake

If you’re looking for a Fall time dessert to impress someone then this is it.  Not only is it one of the best apple desserts that I’ve ever had, it’s also one of the prettiest! This cake is loaded with apples (duh, it’s called apple cake).  I guess what I mean to say is that you definitely know that you’re eating apple cake because every bite is loaded with pieces of apple.  Some apple cakes only sort of taste like apples or the spices that would go in an apple pie.  This one is actually loaded with real live apples. Didn’t …
