Little Cheddar Cheese Bread

How cute is this little cheddar cheese bread? This is a quick bread so when I say “bread” I mean a savory cake. This is really the only kind of bread I make because yeast scares me (and I’ve got a wonderful and talented husband who makes all sorts of it, so I don’t really need to). If you like cheese and bread then this is your dream. It’s loaded with cheddar and Parmesan cheese. It’s the kind of bread that will go well with almost anything, like salads, soups, chili… you get the idea. Look at those wonderful pockets …

Cheese Danish (Redux)

I’m re-sharing a classic today. The other day I did say that I was going to try to share less salads and more comfort food recipes, so here you go. Go big or go home. 🙂 My parents came over to visit this past weekend. My papa loves breakfast pastries so I wanted to make something for him. The only downside (literally) to it is that all the toppings fall off the sides. Eh, I’m over it because …

Grandma’s Chicken

Time for a bit of nostalga. This is one of those dishes that can feed a family on the cheap and doesn’t take much time to prepare. It’s perfect for a busy family on a budget. The recipe came from the grandmother of a friend of the family and was served in my husband’s house while he was growing up. As a fair warning, you have to like canned peas which can be described as an acquired taste for some. If you’d like to to make this into a slightly fancier version you could use frozen veggies or even fresh …

Chicken Chipotle Bowls

Soooo if you thought you’ve seen this post recently then you’d be right. We had a major issue with our server and all I can say is “thank goodness for backups and my husband.” It took a lot of work but my husband got my blog back up and running with some minor hiccups, which included losing my two most recent blog posts. Hey, in the grand scheme of things, I’ll take it. I don’t remember what I wrote when I posted this recipe a couple of weeks ago and to be honest I don’t want to try to recreate …
