Creamed Corn

I’m not inclined to make creamed corn because it doesn’t tend to wow me, but this one did. My husband said “I want corn for Thanksgiving,” so I turned to the fancy corners of the interwebs for some help. There are approximately 1001 creamed corn recipes out there, but this recipe caught my attention. Cheese on top of corn? I’m in. Pictures don’t do this dish justice. It’s absolutely delicious. Do you remember the artichoke or spinach dip that was all the rage a few years ago (and sort of still is)? This creamed corn reminds me of that dip …

Sautéed Carrots

If you are looking for a quick and easy vegetable side dish, then this is it. Slice the carrots, sauté them on the stove, add butter and herbs, done. You can’t get much easier than that. Pumpkin Pie for Two

This Thanksgiving looks different for us. It will be a quiet weekend for two instead of a hectic (but wonderful) weekend visiting families. Even if we can’t be together with our families, we will stay connected through the recipes that came from our loved ones (and of course video chat). Small Pie Crust

Who’s baking pies this weekend? If you raised your (virtual) hand, then I’m with you. I never thought that I’d be interested in making a pie that serves only two people, but that’s changed. When it’s just me and my husband, a small pie is the perfect dessert for 2. I’ve been making my mother-in-law’s pie crust recipe for over 12 years and it’s never failed me. I love it so much that I simply cut it in half to accommodate the smaller version that I’m sharing today. You only need four ingredients and I promise you it’s super simple …

Chicken Parmesan

Guys, I’m obsessed with this chicken parmesan. I love chicken parmesan but I’ve never made it. Are you surprised? I know my mom was when I told her this other day. I have made a semi-homemade version using precooked chicken cutlets but I don’t really count that. So here we are with a new recipe, unlike anything you’ve seen before on the blog. Chicken parmesan is not hard to make but it does have a number of steps. The time is worth it for this recipe. The chicken has a crispy crust and is tender on the inside. It’s simple …
