Mmm chocolate. (I don’t like the title because it’s long and dumb but I couldn’t think of a better one.) Lately I’ve seen a lot of people making cakes in a mug. A cake “baked” in the microwave is not appealing to me. My husband has reported that he does enjoy them, and says there is no better way to get your cake fix solved in a hurry. I’ve never tried one so I’m not sure why I have strong feelings against them. Maybe I’m crazy? (Don’t answer that.) Anyway, I’d rather take a few extra minutes and throw a …

Panzanella with Chicken
I’ve been on a salad kick lately. If you follow me on Instagram, then you’ve seen a lot of salad pictures in my instastories because I’ve been eating them for lunch almost every day. It’s not often that I crave healthy food so I’ll run with it while I can. Believe me, it’s not all healthy all day. I have my share of chocolate chip cookies or ice cream later in the day. And if we’re being honest salads full of bread or bacon aren’t winning a lot of awards. It’s all about balance. Panzanella is a Tuscan salad with …
Lasagna for Two
This is truly awesome lasagna, only little. I’ve been making this lasagna for over 15 years and there’s a reason for it. It’s so dang delicious. I usually make it around the holidays when we host dinner parties because our guests usually request it (yes, it’s that good). I love make-ahead dinners for hosting and lasagna is a great dinner to make before your guests arrive and then just pop it in the oven when you’re ready to cook it. No messy prep work with guests in the house. I’ve wanted to share the lasagna recipe with you for years, …
Cafe Frappe Redux
This cafe frappe is an oldie but goodie. I originally shared this cafe frappe recipe back in 2013 and I wanted to share it again for a couple of reasons. First, I really, really, really hate the original pictures and wanted new ones for the blog. Second, and more importantly, it’s so dang good and it’s worth highlighting again. I figure with the warm weather starting up that it would be a great time to share it. Although to be fair, I drink this 365 days a year. A cafe frappe is a Greek iced coffee with a layer of …
Nachos
Tomorrow is May 1st. Mind blown. Cinco de Mayo is right around the corner and I initially thought that nachos would be a great way to celebrate the occasion, and they are, but then I realized that nachos are awesome any day of the year. I wasn’t sure that I wanted to blog a recipe for nachos because I don’t think that there is a right or wrong way to do it. Grab some chips and pile on the ingredients that you love. Make a pile for one person or 50. My husband and I made these nachos on New …
