Oatmeal Cream Pies

Mmm cookies. My husband loves Little Debbie’s Oatmeal Cream Pies.  For the record, he really loves almost any cookie (my kinda man), but lately he’s been on a Little Debbie food kick.  Thankfully I’m not easily tempted by her cookies and brownies.  I’m more of an Entenmann’s kind of girl and I have no will power when it comes to “E’s” cookies and doughnuts. My husband pulled some extra long hours at work last week so I thought that I’d bake him something special.  Maybe something like a Little Debbie treat?  Insert evil laughter here… Sandwich cookies are cool.  It’s like getting two cookies for …

Spinach Pie (Spanakopita) Chicken Quesadillas

Who doesn’t love a quesadilla? You can make a bazillion different kinds of quesadillas and they’re mad easy to make.  I bet you’ve whipped up some before.  What kind was it?  Was it a hit?  No really, I’d love to know because I’m always looking for more interesting recipes to make.  🙂 Like any good Greek girl, I love spinach pie (aka spanakopita).  Last year I was inspired to take the flavors from it and turn it into a low carb dinner.  The result was a delicious Spinach Pie Spaghetti Squash dish.  The spinach filling was so delicious that my husband …

Pumpkin Snickerdoodle White Chocolate Chip Cookies

Are you guys sick of pumpkin foods yet?  I hope not because I’ve got another good one for you. I had two out of three failed recipes over the weekend.  That’s not good odds.  So what do I do?  I bake cookies.  The failures were probably a blessing in disguise because I need to start baking cookies for the holidays.  Yes, I start this early and freeze them.  I bake dozens and dozens of cookies and baking them ahead of time is really the only way to go (unless you want to bake for 9 days straight… all… day… long… not ideal). …

Pumpkin Spice Latte

I’m celebrating Halloween week with pumpkin spice lattes and orange nail polish. Can you believe it’s almost Halloween?  It felt like just yesterday that I was in a bathing suit sipping a prickly pear margarita.  Okay, maybe not literally yesterday, but it was vacation and it was hot in Arizona, so it wasn’t so long ago that it could already be Halloween.  Could it? Pumpkin spice latte is THE coffee to have for Fall.  Just ask every doughnut shop in your area how they feel about it.  I happen to love it so I’d do what what any ordinary food blogger would …

Pumpkin French Toast

How would you like pumpkin pie for breakfast, without actually eating pie?  (Not that there’s anything wrong with that.) My husband and I enjoyed some great meals while we were on vacation.  (The extra pounds that I’m carrying now are proof.)  After all, on vacation nothing has calories, right?  While staying at the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, my husband ordered brioche french toast at the Aria Cafe and it was divine.  The food blogger in me and the bread maker in my husband immediately think that we to try to replicate this dish this back at home. As soon as we …
