Our Home for Christmas

I love decorating our home for Christmas.  Every year I do things slightly differently.  You may recognize some of the decorations from last year or the year before, but I also bought some new things from Michael’s store and Pottery Barn. This year I went with a mostly white wintry theme. I arranged some faux branches to make this arrangement.  It took me three attempts before I was sort of happy with it.  You can’t really tell from the photo but it’s got sparkles on the leaves.  Pretty much everything I bought has glitter on it so needless to say I …

Triple Layer Chocolate Pie

Guys, this pie is everything! This is probably the wrong time of the year to share a no-bake pie with you.  You know, because everyone wants those kinds of recipes in the summer time to avoid turning on the oven.  But think of it this way… if you make this pie now then you can use the oven time for all the other foods on your list, like cookies.  I’m always thinking.  😉 So first and foremost, this pie is ridiculously delicious.  I’m kind of obsessed with it because it’s so tasty. Peanut Butter Blossoms

It’s officially cookie baking season!  Aka, “bake until your back and feet hurt and you run out of eggs or flour or butter” season. I love to bake cookies for my friends and family for the holidays.  I mean cookies, yum, hello.  I bake different ones each year but I always, always, always bake some kind of peanut butter and chocolate cookie.  This year I’m baking these classic peanut butter blossoms. The Easiest Appetizer Ever

Every holiday season I start by telling myself that I’m going not going to go overboard for the holidays but somehow that never happens.  Can anyone else relate?  This year I’m determined to make it happen.  One way to do that is to skip making appetizers and go straight to the easiest appetizer spread ever, cheese and crackers (with a few additional goodies).  Ina Garten has shown similar ideas on some of her Food Network shows.  In fact she gives great entertaining advice.  I figure if cheese and crackers are good enough for Ina’s guests then they’re good enough for mine.  🙂 I’ve …

Cozy Bedroom for the Holidays

Good morning!  I’m doing all sorts of different things today.  For one, I’m posting on a Saturday which I don’t normally do.  Last week was hectic at work (my day job) and everything totally got away from me so I wasn’t able to post anything. Second, for the first time I’m sharing photos of my bedroom with you.  I think my bedroom is an intimate and personal space so I wasn’t comfortable putting photos out there for the world to see.  Plus I’m still decorating the room and it’s not really complete yet.  You’d think we just moved into this …
