I don’t normally buy a box mix to make muffins (not that there is anything wrong with that), but I did tweak these a little just to make it my own. However, I’ve come to the conclusion that in order to make a healthy muffin (one that is truly healthy) one needs a lot of ingredients, more specifically ingredients that I don’t normally keep in the house. Instead, I can achieve a great tasting and healthy muffin with the help of Hodgson Mill for a lot less money because it has all the uncommon ingredients in it already. These whole wheat muffins are amazing! They have …

Banana Muffins
I’m a muffin junkie. That sounds terrible…junkie…lol. What I really mean is I LOVE muffins and I’ve been on a mission to make every kind out there because they are awesome. 🙂 These banana muffins are really like a banana bread in disguise as a muffin shape. They are full of intense banana flavor with a hint of crunch from the pecans. I’ve topped the muffins with a cinnamon and sugar streusel to give them the perfect touch of spice and sweetness. Banana Muffins Recipe (Makes 12 standard size muffins) Ingredients for Streusel Topping: 1/3 cup brown sugar 2 …
Cheese Danish
Heaven. Yup, one word to describe this delectable breakfast treat. You may remember from my Cinnamon Streusel Coffee Cake that my family and I are HUGE fans of Entenmann’s goodies, especially my dad. My husband and I were planning a visit with my family I thought it was the perfect opportunity to bring them another baked goodie, reminiscent of the Entenmann’s line. A cheese danish was the perfect choice. This cheese danish has the perfect cream cheese to pastry ratio. The pastry dough is buttery and flaky, paired with an icing that is the ideal sweetness for a morning meal. Are you starting to see …
Skinny Banana Blueberry Shake
I’m so excited about this Skinny Banana Blueberry Shake because it’s one of my best tasting shake creations! I make shakes and smoothies often. I don’t tend to follow recipes but instead I just throw a bunch of ingredients in the blender, usually whatever I have in the fridge. Sometimes I have a winner and sometimes not so much. I love getting inspiration from my fellow food bloggers, family, friends, professional chefs, you name it. Have you ever heard of Sally’s Baking Addiction? Sally may have a baking addiction, but I have an addiction to seeing what Sally’s been up to. I’ve only been a …
High Domed Chocolate Chip Muffins
A chocolate chip muffin is one of my favorite baked goodies on earth. I rarely eat them anymore because I always seem to be on a diet, but every now and then I’ll splurge. Funny thing is that lately I find that many coffee shops or bakeries make their chocolate chip muffins too greasy or heavy. Part of what I love about muffins is the base muffin itself, which is why I made these wonderful bakery like chocolate chip muffins…only better! I’m in love with these high domed chocolate chip muffins! Every bite is simply scrumptious. Crunchy top…buttery and moist muffin base…filled with sweet chocolate. …
