Today marks the first day of Breast Cancer Awareness month.  In November 2011 my best friend was diagnosed with breast cancer.  Today she is cancer free.  A routine mammogram and sonogram saved her life.  I don’t like to preach so I won’t sit here and lecture you to get a mammogram (if you are a woman of age eligible to receive one), but please keep my friend’s story in mind. Fashion Week in New York City has just ended.  Seeing all the fabulous designs has reminded me how much I love fashion and it’s inspired me to write a post about it.  I’ve focused on food lately because I love to cook, I love to eat, and frankly it gets me the the most feedback.  However, I realized that some of my other passions, like fashion and home decor, have taken a back seat to food.  (And specifically baked goodies.)  That’s okay.  It’s my blog and I can do whatever I want.  (As my husband points out fairly regularly.)   …
