Christmas Dining Room 2021

I couldn’t be more excited to get back to holiday hosting this year so I decorated the dining room with a cozy elegant natural look. I kept the color scheme neutral with whites and greenery, but I added a pop of color using my mom’s ornaments. They were hers when she was a kid so they have a special spot to shine. I seem to drop an ornament or two every year when I’m decorating the tree so adding delicate ornaments to a bowl is a great way to showcase them and to hopefully avoid breaking any. Cozy means lots …

Christmas 2020

Merry Christmas! I usually start decorating our home during Thanksgiving week, but this year I started even earlier. Maybe right after Halloween? Christmas 2019

Seasons greetings! I’m the kind of person who starts listening to Christmas music right after Halloween. (Don’t judge.) I also like to start decorating the home for Christmas around Thanksgiving. Christmas Dining Room 2019 and Tips for Easy Entertaining

This year’s dining room is probably my favorite.  I lined up a collection of trees on the buffet and most of them light up, which adds a warm ambiance at night.  When I use a lot of decorations for the buffet, I like to have a simple center piece on the dinner table.  I used my favorite table runner and lined the center with a variety of sizes of candles.  It’s so simple but I absolutely love the way it came out. I love to entertain during the holidays.  There’s something wonderful about being surrounded by friends, family, and good …

Simple Winter Decor

Taking down the Christmas decorations is bitter sweet.  I’m glad that the task is done but I miss the Christmas tree lights and all of the fun decorations.  I struggle to decide when to take everything down for that same reason.  Leave them up longer and get sick of them or end up with pine needles literally everywhere, or take them down too early and miss them more than I probably should.  It’s a careful balance. Every January I also struggle with how to fill the space after I take everything down.  I want to leave the same joy in …
