French Chic

Every room needs an inspiration piece, that one item in a room that inspires you to decorate around it.  For our guest bedroom, it was this French tapestry. This amazing tapestry was a recent gift to me.  It was bought in an antique shop in France.  I wonder who owned it before me?  A king and queen perhaps?     😉 I used neutral color colors for the bedding so that the focus is all on that beautiful tapestry.  Plus, I just love decorating in neutrals, anyway. Just look at that embroidery detail.  Gorgeous work. Yes, that’s a zebra print pillow.  It’s …

Home Bar Decor

Do you remember when I used to post about home decor?  I haven’t done that in ages so I understand if you don’t.  I’ve been so focused with food lately (because hello, food is awesome) that I’ve completely ignored my love of styling my home.  I was inspired by my Gin And Tonic post from the other day to show you how I’ve designed a bar area in my dining room. Fall In Love With Fall

Fall is my favorite season for many reasons!  I was married in October and in fact we’ll be celebrating our 5 year wedding anniversary next month.  We’re going to Quebec City for a long weekend and I cannot wait!     🙂 I love the weather this time of year.  When else can I wear a t-shirt with a scarf?     😉 I adore the Fall/Winter fashion trends, like blazers and sweaters.  I’ve started to pull some pieces from the back of my closet that I haven’t seen since I bought them on clearance last year.  It’s like I’m going shopping in my closet. My favorite …

Simple Coffee Table Decor

I find decorating my coffee table so much fun because the possibilities are endless.  Technically I have a “cocktail table” since there are little shelves that you can pull out to place your drink.  How neat is that? The table is pretty traditional with its round shape and dark wood.  I have a nice blank slate to work with.  I wanted a simple, uncluttered look using neutral tones, which and I did by using only three neutral colored objects. I still adore the cork screws in the over sized round glass container that I made a few months back.  Wine Corks Decor can coordinate …

Decorating with Pillows

I am loving my new decorative pillows!  Originally I had faux sheepskin pillows in my living room but they scream autumn and winter.  While I love my faux sheepskin pillows, it’s time for a seasonal change. Pillows are an inexpensive and easy way to make over a room.  There are so many options to choose from, whether you’re looking for a particular size, style, color, or pattern.   Plus they come in all price ranges to fit within your budget.  You can find them at so many places, like furniture stores, chain stores, home decor stores, and on line. Pillows are awesome …
