Holiday Dining Room 2022

It’s the holiday season and my husband and I are in full swing with hosting holiday dinners with family and friends. As in the previous few years, I adorned the chairs with faux wreaths. I used to spend so much time hanging them just right but last year my husband used removable clear clips (similar ones here). They are a game changer and we used them again this year. I always move things around until I get them just right. However, I had a vision for this area and I got it right the first time. I wanted my collection …

Christmas Dining Room 2021

I couldn’t be more excited to get back to holiday hosting this year so I decorated the dining room with a cozy elegant natural look. Christmas Dining Room 2019 and Tips for Easy Entertaining

This year’s dining room is probably my favorite.  I lined up a collection of trees on the buffet and most of them light up, which adds a warm ambiance at night.  When I use a lot of decorations for the buffet, I like to have a simple center piece on the dinner table.  I used my favorite table runner and lined the center with a variety of sizes of candles.  It’s so simple but I absolutely love the way it came out. I love to entertain during the holidays.  There’s something wonderful about being surrounded by friends, family, and good …

Simple Winter Decor

Taking down the Christmas decorations is bitter sweet.  I’m glad that the task is done but I miss the Christmas tree lights and all of the fun decorations.  I struggle to decide when to take everything down for that same reason.  Leave them up longer and get sick of them or end up with pine needles literally everywhere, or take them down too early and miss them more than I probably should.  It’s a careful balance. Every January I also struggle with how to fill the space after I take everything down.  I want to leave the same joy in …

My Home Decorated for Christmas 2018

Christmas is less than one week away!  Holy cow December is flying by.  Here’s a peak into how I decorated my home for Christmas this year. I  kept the entry way very simple and used faux garland and greenery to give it a winter feel.  I’ve used live greenery before on the stair railing and it’s a royal pain in the tush and a total mess when I take it down.  Oddly enough, this is one of those situations where the real stuff is crazy expensive, and the fake stuff is too, but the fake stuff has the advantage that …
