Last week I shared with you how I decorated our kitchen for Fall. Today I’m continuing the tour of our home to show you our cozy Fall family room. I’m all about being cozied up on the couch under blankets in pajamas and watching Hocus Pocus (which I’ve seen at least three times this season). And yes, for a change of technique, I’ve taken some of the pictures for this post with my phone. Sorry if they look a bit funny. 🙂
Candles are a great easy way to create a warm atmosphere. You’ll see that I placed them placed around the room, including the mantel.
I don’t usually decorate for Halloween but these little skeletons spoke to me. (Spooked to me?) I bought them last year at Michaels Stores.
If I had seen that the skeletons were hanging from nooses I might have passed on it, but in the end I don’t think it’s too morbid. After all, I think that one is smiling.
I love decorating with pillows and blankets. They are another simple way to keep those comfort vibes going. Plus, you can find lots of versions of them to fit your budget.
Can you see the two spiders trying to be all creepy crawly? 😉
I only used a few things on the coffee table. I wanted a white theme to pop against the dark wood. Of course, I had to include a couple of miniature pumpkins from Trader Joe’s.
I try not to put too many things on the side tables because we use them a lot. My husband is probably giving me a funny look because he thinks I’ve got too much going on.
In the corner of the room, I added a couple of Fall touches with the two mercury pumpkins you may have recognized from previous years. I’ve had them for a long time and every year I place them in a different room. I love using that “trick” because I feel like I have a new decoration when I use it in a new way.
Can you believe Halloween is two weeks away?! While I love adding Fall touches to our home , I’m not one for dressing up in costume. I’ll save that for the cute kids that stop by for candy. 😉
Lovely, Tina!
Thank you!!
