10 Favorite Holiday Cookie Recipes

Christmas is in full swing in our house.  I’ve been watching holiday movies since October 27 (because that’s when the Hallmark Channel starts their Countdown to Christmas) and listening to Christmas music whenever I can.  I started decorating the house a couple of weeks ago and now I’m just adding a few finishing touches.  I’ve been to the Michael’s store more times in the past two weeks than I have all year. I do seem to be falling behind in my cookie baking though.  Usually by this time I have at least a couple of batches of cookies baked and …

Pumpkin Cheesecake

There was a day when I didn’t care about cracks on top of a cheesecake. My husband has made this pumpkin cheesecake a few times (before my blogging days) and we’re pretty confident that it cracked then too and yet we continued to make it again and again.  Why?  It’s out of this world delicious.  We loved it.  Our families loved it.  We’ve never made any other kind of pumpkin cheesecake because there is no need to try any other when you’ve found one that tastes as good as this one.  Plus, it’s easy to make. Chocolate Crumb Doughnuts

Happy Saturday, guys! I don’t usually post on the weekends.  I had planned on posting last night but someone got sidetracked shopping at The Home Goods store for Christmas decorations.  😉  Boy, the store was a mob scene, but I’m glad that I went because I wanted to see what they had before it got picked over.  It’s the kind of store that’s a hit or a miss but I’m happy to say that the crowds and long line was worth it because I did get a few things.  I’ll be sharing some sneak peaks on instagram and twitter before …

My social media feeds are full of Thanksgiving food pictures and I’m loving that. I don’t think I can get tired of seeing pictures of all the pies.  Mmm pies.  Plus, I think it’s kind of fun to see what people make for their families, whether it be a rendition of a classic dish or something non-traditional, like tacos. Obviously today’s post has nothing to do with Thanksgiving foods.  If you’re like me then I figure you might like an idea of what to eat on the other 364 days of the year.  😉 This meal is a good example …

Friday Fitness

It’s been a while since I chatted about my fitness routine and it’s such a big part of my life that I thought I’d share with you what I’ve been up to. What I’m doing: I change my workout routine to keep it interesting, and also based on the season.  Back in August I got back to running.  I tend to only run when I can do it outside because the treadmill is SO boring for me.  With daylight savings time over, it’s pretty much dark all the freakin time.  I don’t like to run in the dark.  That means …
