Who else is excited for the upcoming holiday weekend? I’m looking forward to getting a little rest and relaxation. For those of you who might be getting away for the weekend, I thought I’d share a list of what I always bring with me on a road trip. Comfy clothes. Every destination is different of course so research the local temps before you go so that you know how to pack. 99.9% of the time you’ll probably reach for your comfiest attire. Lately I’m loving shirts with words on them, especially when I find one that describes me. Comfy walking …

Lemon Scones
Scones are always a good idea. I have never made lemon scones before so I thought that I should do something about that. I started by using my trusty base scone recipe, which I shared with you guys last year. It’s become my go-to scone recipe because it’s delicious and easy to alter for almost any flavor that you want. There is NO lemon extract going on here. It’s actually a forbidden ingredient in our home because quite frankly we find it tastes gross, smells gross, and really mostly reminds us of bathroom cleaner. The key to having a great …
Spring Salad
I don’t like naming a recipe after a season because no one but you knows what that really means. However any other title that I came up with was just too dang long and I don’t like that even more. This is a Caprese salad with lettuce, chickpeas, and pasta with a balsamic vinaigrette dressing. See what I mean? It’s a mouthful. Now that tomatoes and basil are in season around here I’ve deemed this a Spring salad. You can call it what you like, but at the end of the day it’s a bowl full of deliciousness and that’s …
My Favorite Recipes
One of the most frequently asked questions that I get is “what are your favorite recipes?” In case you might be wondering the same, I’ve put together a list of my top favorite recipes of all time so far (in no particular order) with some photos that you’ve never seen before. I have so many favorites that narrowing it down to just these few was very difficult. Chocolate Chip Pound Cake. Need I say more? Fudgy Brownies. These are hands down the best brownies ever. Ever. This has been my go-to brownie recipe for over 10 years. Italian Bread. Is there …
Small Batch Banana Muffins
What do you do when you have one overly ripe banana left and it’s gotten too gross looking to eat? You make a small batch of banana muffins! A batch of four muffins is the perfect amount for me and my sister. If you’re like me then you already have all of the ingredients on hand, even that handy dandy last banana that’s been sitting on the counter begging to be used. You don’t even have a lot of dirty dishes to wash when you’re done. That may sound silly but sometimes I’ll skip a recipe if it looks like …
