Seasons greetings! I’m the kind of person who starts listening to Christmas music right after Halloween. (Don’t judge.) I also like to start decorating the home for Christmas around Thanksgiving. Since Thanksgiving was late this year, I pulled out the bins the week before Thanksgiving. My husband wasn’t exactly thrilled because he prefers his holidays to be in the normal order. I have a process that takes time, so I wanted to get started. I like to decorate my home a little differently every year for Christmas and I’m a visual person so I’ll probably decorate an area two or …

My Home Decorated for Christmas 2018
Christmas is less than one week away! Holy cow December is flying by. Here’s a peak into how I decorated my home for Christmas this year. I kept the entry way very simple and used faux garland and greenery to give it a winter feel. I’ve used live greenery before on the stair railing and it’s a royal pain in the tush and a total mess when I take it down. Oddly enough, this is one of those situations where the real stuff is crazy expensive, and the fake stuff is too, but the fake stuff has the advantage that …
A Cozy Fall Family Room
Last week I shared with you how I decorated our kitchen for Fall. Today I’m continuing the tour of our home to show you our cozy Fall family room. I’m all about being cozied up on the couch under blankets in pajamas and watching Hocus Pocus (which I’ve seen at least three times this season). And yes, for a change of technique, I’ve taken some of the pictures for this post with my phone. Sorry if they look a bit funny. 🙂 Candles are a great easy way to create a warm atmosphere. You’ll see that I placed them placed around the room, …
Christmas 2017
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! I love the spirit, the traditions, the lights, the decorations, and especially the Christmas tree. Every year I start to decorate our home during Thanksgiving week. I like to have the decorations up early to get into holiday spirit. (Come January 2nd I’m ready to put everything away though.) For the entryway, I used a mixture of faux and live wreaths. I love the look of a simple live wreath with beautiful ribbon. It’s also a bonus that it’s budget friendly (especially when you buy the ribbon on sale). I took the below picture at …
Our Home for Christmas
I love decorating our home for Christmas. Every year I do things slightly differently. You may recognize some of the decorations from last year or the year before, but I also bought some new things from Michael’s store and Pottery Barn. This year I went with a mostly white wintry theme. I arranged some faux branches to make this arrangement. It took me three attempts before I was sort of happy with it. You can’t really tell from the photo but it’s got sparkles on the leaves. Pretty much everything I bought has glitter on it so needless to say I …
