Greek Salad

How do you make a Greek salad? If you ask 10 Greeks how to make a Greek salad you’ll get 10 different recipes.  When my husband and I visited Greece, a Greek salad was considered a plate of feta cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers and maybe olive oil.  If that’s what you’re into then check out my recipe for what I call a genuine Greek salad.  I think at the end of the day, if you have good feta cheese then you can’t go wrong with whatever else you add to the plate. A few weeks ago I had dinner with my parents and my …

Garlic Sweet Potato Fries and Avocado Hummus

Football is back! Add football to the long list of reasons why I love Fall.  I love watching a game with my hubby on the couch while we’re in our pajamas.  Wow, that sounds boring and lame.  Eh, I love it. Of course this means that I’m starting to crave “football food.”  You know, beer, pizza, chips and dip, and chili.  Hummus is the perfect dip to have at any party (even a party of 2).  It’s delicious and you can make it ahead of time.  I whipped up a batch of our favorite hummus recipe, but this time I …

Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookie (Redux)

I originally posted this recipe in August 2013 but I’m posting it again. These cookies are amazing.  They are the kind of cookie that people ask you to make over and over again, and I have.  Unfortunately, the original recipe has gotten a bad rap and I’m hoping to fix that here.  I love this recipe so much that it’s worth trying again. Coffee Crumb Cake

I’m sort of obsessed with crumb cakes. The cake, the crumbs, I love it all.  I’ve posted a number of crumb cake recipes on my blog and I’d probably have done more if I didn’t think that you might say “okay, enough crumb cakes already, T.”  So I try my best to space them out. I know that I told you that the NY style crumb cake is the best one ever.  I still stand by that statement.  However, when I saw the recipe for this crumb cake, I simply had to try it to see how it compared. This …

Dark Chocolate Chip Nut Cookies

Cookies are always a good idea.  I’m sure I’ve said that a bazillion times, but it’s true. A few weeks ago we went to Lake George, NY with my entire family.  It’s an annual family tradition.  Everyone asks us to bring cookies so that’s become part of the annual tradition.  My husband made chocolate macadamia white chip cookies and these dark chocolate chip nut cookies. We’ve made chocolate chip cookies many times for Lake George.  Although last year we forgot them at home (and my family still brings that up today).  Anyway, since the chocolate chip cookies are always a HUGE hit my husband wanted to make …
