Chocolate has two best friends, peanut butter and coffee. Today, chocolate and coffee are hanging out. 🙂
Starbucks is a fabulous thing for coffee lovers like me and every now and then I’ll treat myself. Have you ever had their Java Chip Frappuccino? It’s an iced sweet chocolate coffee drink. I’ve created a version of it to feel like I’m at my own personal coffee house.
Java Chip Frappuccino Recipe
(Serves 1)
Ingredients:
- 1 and 1/2 cups ice
- 1/2 cup skim milk
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 1 tablespoon dry creamer (I used Coffee-Mate, The Original)
- 1 tablespoon chocolate cocoa mix (I used Swiss Miss)
- 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup (I used Hershey’s)
- 1 tablespoon chocolate chips
- 1 heaping tablespoon instant coffee (I used Nescafe)
- whipped light cream, for topping (optional)
Directions:
- Put all of the ingredients (except for the whipped cream) into a blender and mix well.
Chocolate. Check. Coffee. Check. 🙂
The ice is a crucial ingredient here because it makes this refreshing drink nice and thick. What would I do without my blender? I guess spend more money at Starbucks. 😉
Hello big dollop of whipped cream! My husband has been known to take a shot from the whipped cream can every now and then. Love you, babe! I’m equally guilty with chocolate syrup though! A spoon full of chocolate syrup is delightful. 🙂
Like my new nifty straws?
I learned that whipped cream is not a good subject matter for taking pictures. I had to top it off twice during my photo shoot because it would melt into the drink. Not a bad thing, mind you, if you’re taking your time to drink this slowly.
Wow, I keep digressing from what I should be talking about here…this fabulous java chip frappuccino. Guess that’s what happens when I’ve sampled too much of this yummy beverage that’s full of caffeine and sugar. Lol.
The bottom line is that if you like coffee and chocolate then I know you’ll fall in love with this frosty drink. 🙂
Enjoy!

It was so good that I drank it quickly. Caffiene + chocolate = talking and moving fast (for me). Lol. No harm done. 😉 Have a happy Friday!
Wow, this looks fantastic Tina! Who needs Starbucks when you can enjoy this tasty concoction in the comfort of your own home 🙂 Yum!
Yes, exactly! I wish I had one handy right now. I could use a happy and delicious pick-me up drink like this. 🙂 Have a lovely Friday!
Oh boy! I want to try this! I learned how to make a mocha frap recently (its’s an addiction) and been making it almost daily! This looks so delicious and legit!
Mocha frap sounds amazing! I’ve made this java chip frap so many times. I think it’s my go-to drink right now. 🙂
