Stuff I’m Into

Welcome to my new series, Stuff I’m Into!

Here’s the scoop…

What’s it about?  In this series I’ll talk about anything that I’m loving at the moment.  I might share three thoughts or ten.  It could be about food, fashion, home decor, books, movies… whatever.  I might include links to other blogs that I’m obsessing over.  I could include anything from my old photos that didn’t make the cut to discussions about posts I never published or photos of random things that don’t belong in any other category on this blog, but that I just had to share with you.  If I’m into it then I’m blogging about it.

When will it happen?  I’ll publish this series monthly, weekly, or whenever my creative juices are on vacation or in overdrive.  Basically this could be 1 of 1 in this series or 1 of 60 over the next year.  No specific time line means that I’m not pressured to come up with stuff just for the heck of it.  It also means that when I do put out one of these it’s really about things I want to share.

Titles are everything.  I have to credit my husband for the title of this series.  Once I decided to move forward with the idea I asked him what I should call it.  I told him, “I want a title that’s generic enough where I can talk about any kind of stuff that I’m into right now.”  Within 3 seconds he responded, “How about ‘Stuff I’m Into’?”  I instantly loved it because the phrase is truthful, honest, and not fancy.  I knew he was good with words, but seriously, how the heck did he come up with that so quickly when I’ve been racking my brain for the past few months (yes, literally)??  I should listen to myself more often because it would seem that I had the answer all along!  (Thanks, boo!)

I hope you enjoy this.  My blog is essentially a diary of me and what I like or dislike at the time.  I seriously hope that you enjoy seeing what I’ve been into lately.  However, if you only like my blog for the recipes then I accept that.  After all, it’s not like I’m a celebrity and you’re obsessed with copying what I do… at least not yet.  😉

Timing is everything… or is it?  My blog will turn 2 years old next week (holy cow, how did that happen?), so I suppose it’s sort of appropriate to start this series as a pre-celebration of my blogiversary.  🙂

Without further ado, here’s the Stuff I’m Into…

Coffee Table Books.  I realized that I have no coffee table books.  You know, books that you put on your coffee table for decoration.  I fixed that by buying Elements of Style: Designing a Home & a Life and Black and White (and a Bit in Between).  I love them both!

Rick, the Scapegoat.  Does anyone else find this commercial simultaneously funny and annoying?  I thought these were made up digital sounds played over a video of a goat making a face, but they are in fact a real species that makes scream like that… my husband and I looked it up.  P.S., love his blue hair net.

Fashion Bloggers.  I have been in desperate need of fashion inspiration and I found it on Instagram.  I’m following a variety of fashion bloggers and these are my favorites right now:  Southern Curls & PearlsBrooklyn Blonde, Little Miss Fearless, and For All Things Lovely.

Grey and White.  I finally found an awesome over sized sweater that doesn’t swallow me!  Loft Lou & Grey Melange Cardigan.

Blue and White.  I am sprucing up my home decor with some lovely Spring-y pieces and I’m loving blue and white accents.  I have an entire post dedicate to this very topic coming soon.  Here’s a sneak peak that I shared on Instagram.

Trinket Tray (aka Catchall).  Everyone needs a little tray to place odds and ends in and I finally found this perfect one for my nightstand.  I scored it on sale for $2.50 at JCrew.  They’re sold out as I write this, but here’s a similar one.

Tell me, what stuff are you into lately?  Inquiring minds want to know.  🙂

Ciao for now!
