Stuff I’m Into: Spring Style

We’ve had a cool Spring here in CT.  In fact, it was warmer on Christmas than it’s been for most of Spring so far.  I’m prepping for just the occasion.  Here’s some Stuff I’m Into lately.

Desert Shades.  A new season is a good excuse to make sure you’ve got a fabulous summer bag.  I bought this tote last October and I love it.  It’s reversible too!

The Maxi Dress.  A long, flowy dress is essential for Spring and Summer.  I bought a classic black one from White House Black Market about five years ago and I still love and wear it.  For those chilly Spring days, I love adding a denim jacket (more on denim below) or an olive green utility jacket.

Color Code.  Most of my clothes are neutral colors but I try to incorporate some brightly colored pieces in my wardrobe.  After all, it’s time to shed the blacks and browns and starting wearing fun Spring shades like pastels and brights.  (Let’s face it, black is in style 365 days of the year!)  If you’re like me and are hesitant to wear bright colors, I find that it’s easier to sport them as accent pieces than as whole wardrobes.  I adore this Rebecca Minkoff clutch.

The Wedge.  I haven’t bought any sandals or espadrilles yet because I don’t feel like buying something that I can’t wear yet.  However, I do have my eyes set on these or these or these.  They are all in my shopping cart and I can’t decide which ones I want.  Aren’t online carts fun because you can do that?

My youngest sister and I were chatting about my choices the other day.  She thinks it might be weird to wear suede in the summer, even if it’s on a sandal.  I thought it was totally fine but now she has me wondering the same thing now.  I don’t want to buy a sandal that I can only wear in the Spring.  Do you think it’s okay to wear suede sandals in the summer?

Delicate and Feminine.  Spring is all about wearing delicate and feminine pieces.  Bye, bye turtleneck and over sized sweaters.  Hello, short sleeve shirts and dresses.  (Ugh, my skin is so white!  Must getting back to tanning… faux tanning.  😉 )  I just bought this crepe flutter blouse the other day and I can’t wait to wear it.  It feels fun and flirty.  Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, and Loft have a great selection of petite clothes, which is key for me.

Denim for Days.  I love a good denim jacket because it goes with almost everything, from workout clothes to a dress.  It’s ideal for the changing seasons when you need just a little something.  I used to have one when I was in high school and thought I was totally cool.  It just goes to show you that it’s a classic because they are still in style.  I bought this Levi’s jacket about three years ago. I’d like to get another one in a lighter shade and have this Banana Republic denim jacket in my (online) cart.  I tried it on the other day and it fits amazingly well.  Plus the denim is soft and not stiff like many other denim jacket brands.

What styles are you sporting for Spring?  Ciao!

Hi Tina. My opinion is that you can wear suede sandals in the summer. The flutter top is cute.
