Master Bedroom Decorated For Christmas

I decorated most of our home with a traditional red holiday color this year, but I did something completely different in our master bedroom.  I used a neutral palette for Christmas.  That may not be a thing, but I’m making it a thing, so there.  🙂

This is our everyday bedding (duvet and shams).  To add a touch of the holidays, I bought this ‘Merry’ pillow from TJMaxx.  I really did not need another pillow to add the pile that I already have, but I couldn’t resist the white velvet and silver beads.  In fact, this pillow was the inspiration for the theme in this room.

Of course no bedroom is complete without a cozy blanket (or six) and I love my faux fur blanket.  My blanket is a few years old so you can’t really find them anymore, but this faux one is very similar.  You’ll see that I used a wide variety of textures throughout the entire room to keep the neutral tones interesting.  Just because it’s neutral doesn’t mean it has to be boring.

I love the garland and lights that I added to the headboard.  I bought them from TJMaxx.  The string of lights is separate from the garland.  If you can’t tell, the garland has faux fur shaped hearts and stars.  I think it’s adorable, but my husband thinks otherwise.  When he saw me taking them out of the box he thought they were furry gingerbread men and butts.

I kept my husband’s night stand very simple because he gets frustrated with me if I use up all of his space with things.  How cute is that Santa?  My husband tolerates him, but refers to him as “Dude McTallHat.”  Again, I’m mixing a bunch of textures and fun knick knacks (or what I call, “dust collectors”) to give the room a cozy and warm feel.

I used a mixture of colored metals throughout the room.  I focused on rose gold things for my night stand.  I’m obsessed with these two metallic Christmas trees that I bought last week.  Of course, I had to add a little sparkle and bought the two sparkly trees from TJMaxx.  (If you haven’t noticed I had a lot of good luck finding things at TJMaxx this year.)

I always struggle with decorating the TV area.  Does anyone else have that same dilemma?  I probably switched it up about 10 times using 20 different things before I got it to a state that I liked.  After all, if stuff prevents the convenient use of the TV, something has gone horribly wrong.

A bowl full of ball ornaments is one of the easiest ways to add a holiday touch to any room.  I used regular gold and rose gold again but you could use any color to coordinate with your theme.

I introduced some silver touches and faux greenery in this area.

I used more plush textures in our nook.  I added darker neutrals to the party.  Once again, the pillows I’m using are a few years old so you can’t find them anymore, but these pillows are very similar.

I’m really  happy with the way our bedroom came out, so much so that it’s difficult to leave it!

I think it is pretty, festive, simple and tasteful. And I’m stealing the idea of the ornaments in a bowl!
