Magic Cookie Bars

My mom has the magic touch.  No, she’s not a magician, but sometimes I wonder.     😉  Whenever I worry about something (which is a daily ritual for me) she always knows what to say to put my mind at ease.  She gives me great advice no matter what the topic is.  I could go on and on.  I love and admire her so much that words don’t seem to do her justice.  What better way to honor her (and all moms) with these magic cookie bars. These gooey cookie bars are loaded with chocolate, coconut, and nuts. Magic …

Light Fudgy Brownies

Do you know how the brownie came about?  I’ve made a lot of brownies (who hasn’t?), but after making this latest batch, I was curious.  Go go Google.  Here’s some Food History 101.  For the Chicago (Illinois, USA) 1893 World Fair, a woman by the name of Bertha Palmer requested a dessert for the ladies in attendance of the Fair.  She wanted someting that was cake-like but smaller in size.  A chef at Chicago’s Palmer House Hotel created what we all know now as a brownie. In honor of the one day a year when everyone is Irish, I was inspired to create these bar cookies which are loaded with …

There I was, in the middle of the winter of 2013, wearing sweat pants, and soon to be turning another thirty “something.”  I needed a change and I wanted an outlet to connect better with my family.  Was starting a blog my answer?  (See my answer below.)  I can’t even begin to tell you how much I’ve learned about myself, the blogging world, photography, and so many other things along the way.  I’ve met so many wonderful people and made many great friends along the way.  Honestly, the history of Tina’s Chic Corner …

Peanut Butter Chocolate Dipped Blondies

I bought a bag of Valentine’s Day colored M&Ms the other day.  How should I have fun with them?  (Aside from eating them by the handful.)  Well, chocolate is best friends with peanut butter so let’s have a party with the two flavors! I made these super thick and chewy peanut butter blondies and coated them with chocolate and M&Ms. Peanut Butter Chocolate Dipped Blondies Recipe (Makes 16 bars) Ingredients: 2/3 cup butter (roughly 1 stick and 3 tablespoons) 1 cup dark brown sugar 1/2 cup white sugar 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter 2 eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 and 3/4 cups all-purpose …
