Chocolate Crumb Doughnuts

Happy Saturday, guys! I don’t usually post on the weekends.  I had planned on posting last night but someone got sidetracked shopping at The Home Goods store for Christmas decorations.  😉  Boy, the store was a mob scene, but I’m glad that I went because I wanted to see what they had before it got picked over.  It’s the kind of store that’s a hit or a miss but I’m happy to say that the crowds and long line was worth it because I did get a few things.  I’ll be sharing some sneak peaks on instagram and twitter before …

Crumb Doughnuts

O… M… G.  These are the best doughnuts that I’ve ever made.  Ever. I’ve made a lot of baked doughnuts and I’m a tough critic.  I suppose it’s because a baked doughnut is not fried (duh) and in my mind and they’re just not the same.  I refuse to own a fryer (because I don’t need more fatty temptations) so I’ve come to terms with the fact that baked doughnuts tend to look and taste like oddly shaped cakes. Time to make the doughnuts.  Does anyone remember that commercial?  I know I’m dating myself but I always have to say that when I make doughnuts. Now when I say “doughnuts,” I use the term loosely.  These are baked and not fried because I don’t own a fryer.  There is a very good reason for that.  (My waistline thanks me.)  Every now and then my husband says that we should own one.  He really wants to make “proper” fried yeast doughnuts.  The problem is that we’d probably make them like every day.  Plus the food blogger in me would probably want to try …

Funfetti Doughnuts

Sprinkles and doughnuts… is there a better way to start a Monday?  I think not. I’ve been chatting about our family trip that we took to Lake George, NY last weekend.  We have a specific morning ritual everyday.  My youngest sister and I start with iced coffee from Dunkin’ Donuts.  Then we all head to my parents’ motel room for breakfast.  Maybe someone will have a Cinnamon Roll, or a Sticky Bun, or both (yes, really), or a Strawberry Hand Pie, or Peach Blueberry Scones, or The Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookie, or you get the idea.  Yes, those are really some of the goodies I’ve bought …

Chocolate Chip Doughnuts

Today, I’m celebrating the 2nd blogiversary of Tina’s Chic Corner! Time flies by when you’re having fun.  Seriously, I have no idea how two years have gone by.  When I started this adventure I didn’t even know if I’d still be doing this gig for two weeks, let alone two years.  I wasn’t even sure about buying my domain name for more than the minimum of one year.  Here I am 316 posts later, with many new friends, learning a lot about food, photography, social media, and myself and I renewed my domain name for another four years.  I guess I …
