Pumpkin Pie for Two

This Thanksgiving looks different for us. It will be a quiet weekend for two instead of a hectic (but wonderful) weekend visiting families. Even if we can’t be together with our families, we will stay connected through the recipes that came from our loved ones (and of course video chat). I told my husband that I didn’t care what we ate for Thanksgiving dinner. Seriously, mac and cheese and chicken nuggets would do. However, we had to have my mother-in-law’s pumpkin pie for dessert because it is probably my favorite pie ever. A normal size pie is just way too …

Small Pie Crust

Who’s baking pies this weekend? If you raised your (virtual) hand, then I’m with you. I never thought that I’d be interested in making a pie that serves only two people, but that’s changed. When it’s just me and my husband, a small pie is the perfect dessert for 2. I’ve been making my mother-in-law’s pie crust recipe for over 12 years and it’s never failed me. Chicken Parmesan

Guys, I’m obsessed with this chicken parmesan. I love chicken parmesan but I’ve never made it. Are you surprised? I know my mom was when I told her this other day. Slow Cooker Taco Chicken Chili

Chili season is in full swing and I’ve got a new recipe for you. I don’t use a slow cooker often and by that I mean that we use it for one recipe, pea soup. So I’m trying to use it more for other recipes, which is where this taco chicken chili recipes comes in. The best part about this chili is that you don’t have to touch raw chicken. You put it, along with all of the other ingredients into your slow cooker and let it do the dirty work. I love that this chili option has chicken instead …

Cornbread (Redux)

I’ve been craving cornbread so here we are making my favorite recipe. I originally shared this cornbread recipe back in 2013. Side note, how is it that I’ve been blogging over 7 years?! Anyway. It’s still my favorite cornbread recipe and I wanted to share it again because it’s that good. Plus, it’s a bonus for me to have updated pictures. It’s my favorite cornbread because it’s moist but a tad crumbly (as cornbread should be). There is a hint of sweetness in this cornbread, which I love.  Some people don’t like the sugar because they feel like they are …
