Christmas 2023

Welcome to our home for the 2023 holidays!

This year I’m embracing nature, earthy touches, and neutral colors with a touch of traditional reds and greens.

Our kitchen tree is an ode to our vacation to Quebec City, Canada because we enjoyed macarons and hot cocoa almost every night in old Quebec. So there are several macaron ornaments on the tree.

This summer I found out that I love ferns (mostly because I haven’t killed them yet). It started with one and now I have three. I decided to leave them out on the kitchen table and dress them up with some festive velvet ribbon.

I’ve had this collection of white houses for several years now but I love to decorate with them differently each year.

I’ve wanted an advent calendar and I finally bought one. It adds a lovely touch to this corner. The drawers are smaller than I imagined when I ordered it, so treats are just balanced on them instead of hidden inside.

Most of my decorations are things that I’ve owned for years but I use them in different ways to give it a refresh. These two wood trees are new. I scored them for a low price my local HomeGoods store. I love the added texture and variety that they give to my existing decorations.

Here’s a sneak peak of our family tree.

Oh this mantel is my favorite by far that I’ve ever done. It’s so fluffy! I basically used what I had last year except I used removable hooks. With a little magic (and hours adjusting), boom, holiday greenery at its finest.

Here’s a better angle of the garland from the side to see its dimension. I love that this will take me into the winter months too since it’s not specifically Christmassy.

Here’s my favorite Christmas decoration of all, our family tree. She’s a live tree that stands at about 9 feet tall. Her shape couldn’t be more perfect. I always use our assortment of ornaments that we’ve collected over the years on this tree. This year it was my turn to pick the lights, and I went all white like I always do for that classy look. (My husband is making noises at that since he likes the colored lights and thinks they are just as classy, thank you very much.)

Having coffee with my love with this view is something you cant’t beat.

I hope you have a wonderful holidays!
