Chocolate Nut Strudel

Chocolate for breakfast is always a good idea. This strudel is not strictly for breakfast.  In fact, my husband would probably say that this is really a dessert.  I see bakery shops sell this kind of pastry with coffee.  You drink coffee with breakfast.  So naturally a pastry like this strudel should be eaten for breakfast.  (Take that logic!)  I’m a chocoholic so maybe you can’t go by me.  This is not meant to be a big debate.  If you make this strudel, you can eat it whatever time of the day you want.  🙂 I can’t even begin to tell you …

Giant Blueberry Hand Pie

Is it bad when your laziness is the inspiration for a recipe? My husband has been after me to make my Strawberry Hand Pies again.  The last crumb of those wasn’t even gone and he was already putting in his request.  That made me happy because I knew I had a real winner of a recipe. Here’s the clincher…  Even though the strawberry hand pies are crazy delicious, they are a pain in the butt to make… at least for me.  The steps are actually quite easy, but the perfectionist in me takes it to a whole other level (and not a good one).  …

Cinnamon Rolls

Guys, I couldn’t be more excited to share today’s recipe with you… seriously excited, like you just told a kid they’re going to Disney World kind of excited.  I’ll refrain from the screams and eeks, but I’m telling you right now that this is absolutely my favorite recipe this year so far. My husband is the brains behind this creation so I’ll happily turn it over to him.  Excuse me while I grab my fat pants. If preparing to make this recipe has taught me anything, it’s that cinnamon roll recipes are as widely varied as they are a pain in the butt …

Strawberry Hand Pies

Being a perfectionist is a lot of work.  I’ve made these strawberry hand pies twice now.  Why?  Not because they are mad delicious (which of course they are) and I want to make them for everyone I know (which I do because they get amazing reviews).  Instead it was because I wasn’t happy with the photographs.  I seriously need to take a chill pill!  The one good thing out of this whole ordeal is that my husband and I get to eat more awesome hand pies! Strawberry Hand Pies Recipe (Makes 9 hand pies) Note:  This recipe requires 1 hour of chilling time. Ingredients for the …

Sweet Almond Pastry

It was my dad’s birthday last week and I wanted to make something for him to celebrate the occasion.  He’s a breakfast kinda guy, especially breakfast baked goodies.  He’s also a huge fan of anything almond-y.  Do you remember my Almond Biscotti?  I made those with him in mind.  I’ve combined the best of both worlds and made him this sweet almond pastry. Sweet Almond Pastry Recipe (About 6 servings) Ingredients: 2 large eggs, divided per the directions 1 tablespoon water 6 ounces of almond paste (I used Solo.) 3 tablespoons white sugar 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 puff pastry sheet, …
