Candy Cane Shaped Raspberry Cheese Danish

I’ve got the most Christmas-y festive treat for you (and it’s not cookies). I’ve made this raspberry cheese danish a number of times. I shared it with you originally in 2013 and again in 2019 (same recipe, just updated pictures). It always comes out pretty and it’s always a huge hit, especially with my dad and husband. My parents came out for a visit last week to see the home decorated for Christmas, so I thought I’d make the danish again. But wait, there’s more. 😉 I saw online that you can shape a cheese danish into a candy cane …

Cheese Danish (Redux)

I’m re-sharing a classic today. The other day I did say that I was going to try to share less salads and more comfort food recipes, so here you go. Go big or go home. 🙂 My parents came over to visit this past weekend. My papa loves breakfast pastries so I wanted to make something for him. Raspberry Cheese Danish (Redux)

When I want to cook something for my dad I instantly go to breakfast and pastries because that’s his favorite. My dad says that he likes everything that I cook for him, even my chicken dinners. I’m not sure that I entirely believe him because he’s not a chicken fan. If you’ve followed me for a long time then this danish will look familiar because …

Chocolate Nut Strudel

Chocolate for breakfast is always a good idea. This strudel is not strictly for breakfast.  In fact, my husband would probably say that this is really a dessert.  I see bakery shops sell this kind of pastry with coffee.  You drink coffee with breakfast.  So naturally a pastry like this strudel should be eaten for breakfast.  (Take that logic!)  I’m a chocoholic so maybe you can’t go by me.  This is not meant to be a big debate.  If you make this strudel, you can eat it whatever time of the day you want.  🙂 I can’t even begin to tell you …

Giant Blueberry Hand Pie

Is it bad when your laziness is the inspiration for a recipe? My husband has been after me to make my Strawberry Hand Pies again.  The last crumb of those wasn’t even gone and he was already putting in his request.  That made me happy because I knew I had a real winner of a recipe. Here’s the clincher…  Even though the strawberry hand pies are crazy delicious, they are a pain in the butt to make… at least for me.  The steps are actually quite easy, but the perfectionist in me takes it to a whole other level (and not a good one).  …
