Welcome to our home for the holidays!
I usually adorn the staircase garland with ribbon but I didn’t want to use any this year (I made up for it in other rooms though). I wanted a minimalist look so I only added these flameless candles. I wasn’t sure how it would turnout but I love the simplicity and festive feeling, kind of old world like.
For the tree in our kitchen, I went with a nature theme. I used lots of ribbon for bows, dried eucalyptus and clear glass ornaments.
Here’s a close up of the beauty.
I’ve had these little white ceramic houses for years, but I love trying to find new ways to decorate with them.
I love my little trees that I place around the family room. In the reflection of the mirror you’ve got a sneak peak of the pièce de résistance.
My favorite Christmas decoration is always our family room live Christmas tree. This one is almost 9 feet tall. We usually get a taller tree but the options were shorter this year than in the past. On the plus side, it is one of the most perfectly shaped tree that we’ve ever gotten. There is no fancy theme but it is full of a lot of love with the ornaments that we’ve collected over the years. We alternate years with the color lights since my husband prefers the colored ones and I prefer the white ones. The glow of Christmas lights (white or colored) and the smell of fresh pine has the most magical feeling.
I love last year’s garland on the mantel of the fireplace so much that I didn’t think that I could top it, but as it turns out, I might have. I used all of the same greenery but added touches of red this year.
Here’s a close up of the garland. The red velvet ribbon and branches of mini pomegranates give it a lovely festive and warm vibe.
I’ll be in pajamas and fuzzy sleepers, all cozied up, with this view for the foreseeable future. 🙂
My husband and I wish you and your family peace, love, and joy this holiday season and all the best for the new year!
