Pizza Dip

Everyone has their favorite food to munch on while they watch (or pretend to watch) a football game. My ideal food to have during a football game is pizza (and a beer).  Who am I kidding?  I pretty much want pizza all the darn time, even on a random hot day in the summer when there are no signs of a football around.  Anyway, I’m pretty sure that I’m not alone here because pizza is awesome. You may be the kind of person who requires chips and dip instead.  After all, chips and dip are a wonderful thing to pop in your mouth …

Banana Cake With Vanilla Frosting

I’m bananas over this cake.  (Bet you’ve never heard that one before, but I couldn’t resist..  😉 ) In all seriousness, I’ve wanted to make this banana cake for a while now.  Why?  Uhm, isn’t the answer obvious?  We’re talking about cake, here.  I haven’t made it until now because I’m not the greatest at making cakes or frosting them, especially frosting them.  One time I threw an entire cake away because I tried to spread the frosting on it before it had cooled completely and the frosting melted and got weird. I learned two things that day.  One, the …

Black Beans, Sausage And Rice

I had every intention of making a beans and rice meal and then I realized that beans and rice, while tasty as a side dish, may not keep my husband satisfied.  He will, after all, be the one eating it over and over again as the main course. Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Energy Bars

There are labels for food and labels for people that eat certain foods.  I’m not sure I like labels much. I have been fascinated with vegan food lately, but as I’ve told you before I don’t have any intention of becoming a vegan.  Even not being a vegan, I found that I actually felt a little guilty the other day when I had a cheese and egg sandwich.  That’s sort of weird.  I felt like I was cheating by eating non-vegan food.  That got me thinking about all of the various food labels and got me wondering how I would label …

Vegetable Stir Fry

I’m going old school on you. I had this meal for dinner almost every night when I was in law school.  It started one random night when I needed to go grocery shopping but I was too lazy to go.  (Sound familiar?)  So I grabbed whatever I had in the fridge and threw it into a stir fry.  It seems just like yesterday that my parents would open my fridge in shock and would wonder if I ate at all.  Trust me, I ate. Not only did I find this meal tasty (which is probably obvious since I said I …
