The Easiest Appetizer Ever

Every holiday season I start by telling myself that I’m going not going to go overboard for the holidays but somehow that never happens.  Can anyone else relate?  This year I’m determined to make it happen.  One way to do that is to skip making appetizers and go straight to the easiest appetizer spread ever, cheese and crackers (with a few additional goodies).  Ina Garten has shown similar ideas on some of her Food Network shows.  In fact she gives great entertaining advice.  I figure if cheese and crackers are good enough for Ina’s guests then they’re good enough for mine.  🙂 I’ve …

Greek Salad

How do you make a Greek salad? If you ask 10 Greeks how to make a Greek salad you’ll get 10 different recipes.  When my husband and I visited Greece, a Greek salad was considered a plate of feta cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers and maybe olive oil.  If that’s what you’re into then check out my recipe for what I call a genuine Greek salad.  I think at the end of the day, if you have good feta cheese then you can’t go wrong with whatever else you add to the plate. Garlic Sweet Potato Fries and Avocado Hummus

Football is back! Add football to the long list of reasons why I love Fall.  I love watching a game with my hubby on the couch while we’re in our pajamas.  Wow, that sounds boring and lame.  Eh, I love it. Pizza Dip

Everyone has their favorite food to munch on while they watch (or pretend to watch) a football game. My ideal food to have during a football game is pizza (and a beer).  Who am I kidding?  I pretty much want pizza all the darn time, even on a random hot day in the summer when there are no signs of a football around.  Anyway, I’m pretty sure that I’m not alone here because pizza is awesome. You may be the kind of person who requires chips and dip instead.  After all, chips and dip are a wonderful thing to pop in your mouth …

Olive Tapenade

Holy crap, it’s one week until Christmas already! Seriously, where does the time go?  I’m usually done with my Christmas shopping by now so I was amazed by how crowded the mall was as I grabbed a couple last minute gifts well behind schedule.  It was a little too crowded for my liking, but I set out on a mission to finish up the shopping and I was successful.  Go me.  😉 Anywho, let’s talk about olives.  I love them.  Period.  End of story.  Just kidding, I can’t end it there, it would be a really weird blog post.  Olive …
