Indian Spiced Potato Chips With Garlic Yogurt Dip

Football season means it’s time to eat lots of unhealthy foods, right?  Sometimes. I’m totally into the whole football scene.  I enjoy watching the games and I’m not just there for the food.  (Not that there’s anything wrong with that.)  Give me a pizza and a beer during the game and I’m a happy girl.  It’s so cliché but it’s true. Snacks are a must for game time, too.  All the usual suspects, like nachos, fatty dips and chips, and greasy appetizers are of course awesome but I could take or leave them depending on my mood.  My husband feels the …

Spicy Baked Asparagus Fries

After a day like Saturday, my husband and I deserved a trip to IHOP. Okay, I may be being a bit dramatic.  The story goes that my car is 10 years old and I thought I’d make sure that I have the title handy just in case I decide to buy a new car at a moment’s notice.  Guess who couldn’t find the title?  In true Tina style, I freaked out.  Thankfully my husband is a calm cookie and kept me from losing my mind.  Also, fortunately you can get a copy of your car title from the DMV.  However, there’s only one …

Praline Pecan Crunch Snack Mix

Guys, meet praline pecan crunch snack mix, otherwise known as party crack. One of my sisters went to a party recently and she was served this snack mix.  She told me that everyone loved it and couldn’t stop eating it.  She said that I definitely had to make it and share it on my blog.  I just love how she was thinking of me… warm fuzzy.  🙂  How could I resist making it after hearing this awesome review?  I couldn’t, so I did. Now here’s the hard part about this recipe.  Are you ready?  You have to stir the mixture every …

Chocolate Dipped Fresh Figs

What’s better than fresh and great tasting fruit?  Fresh fruit dipped in chocolate! I had my first fresh fig several years ago right from a tree in Greece and it was a life changing event.  Well, that may be a bit dramatic.  It was when I realized that you don’t have to eat figs when they are dried so I guess you could say it was at least a revelation of sorts. Have you ever eaten a fresh fig?  It’s kind of hard to explain.  They are sweet, a sweetness that reminds me of honey.  If you’ve ever had a Fig Newton then you can kind of get …

Cauliflower Poppers

It’s football season and you know what that means… we need some kinda game food.  Let’s face it, even if you’re not into football, snacks and appetizers are always fun to eat, like these cauliflower poppers. Let me start by saying that these poppers do not have cheese in them (in case you are like my husband who thinks poppers = veggies and cheese). On to the business at hand.  Cauliflower.  I bought a head of cauliflower, having no particular recipe to use it in.  Since it’s one of my favorite veggies I knew I’d come up with some way …
